The room was comfortable and the cleaning service was impressively efficient. I also loved the lobby and coffee area, even if the coffee service itself was just average. The reception staff were friendly. However, the shower was a major letdown. The water temperature fluctuated between warm and almost cold during every single use, which, as you can imagine, is quite unpleasant in the middle of winter.

Small room, but otherwise excellent facilities

We’ve stayed in many Ibis hotels, usually the budget size, and this was by far the best one that we have stayed in. Sure, the room was small, and there wasn’t enough storage for our bags (had to leave them on the floor), but the breakfast was excellent (including hot food and healthy options); there’s a gym (5 euros charge); lots of space downstairs for the bar, snooker, soft chairs, and working areas; easy flat walk into town; canal out the back with a 1.25km loop for running; and right next to the train station (Dampoort) and FlixBus stop. The building seems pretty new and consequently everything was squeaky clean.

It’s been a great experience! The people were very welcoming and kind, the hotel is cozy. It’s very close to bus station Dampoort which busses takes you into the city centre in 10 minutes or less. It’s affordable and it was very clean!
