The living was nice and breakfast was okey. But on checkout when I asked the reception to book me a taxi, then I got a "not so clean" taxi who at the end of the trip told me he does not accept card payment. I had to go in to the city again to get cash and pay him three times the price because of all the waiting time, and on top of that I was 40 minutes late to my meeting. I called the reception to see if they could pay the cab for me and charge to my room, but they told me in a very aggressive and disrespectful manner that I this is not possible and I should go to a bank. Really dissapointed.

My first engagement with the reception staff was disappointing. Whilst my booking was for 2 people including breakfast for 2, my friend had to cancel at last minute and whilst I was comfortable paying for the full cost of the room, I was disappointed and found it unreasonable that I had to pay for breakfast for two people still and the reception staff refused to amend my booking. Otherwise the location of the hotel was good, the accommodation was basic but as expected. Although generally the hallways and rooms I found to be dark and would benefit from some better lighting and brighter colours.

I generally stay at Ibis Hotels during my travels and Ibis Gent Centrum St Baafs Kathedraal is by far the best Ibis hotel compared to the others. The staff was good and the room was clean. Only slippers were absent. The location is next to the St Baafs Kathedraal in the very center of Ghent. I highly recommend this hotel

Everything was efficiently organised and it was a nice place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful in answering questions. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything worked in the room as expected.

My wife and I are regular users of the Accor Totels (Ibis, Novotel...) and have stayed in some really pleasant and friendly hotels but in truth I was disappointed with the Ibis Gent Centrum. There were some pleasant elements (restaurants and room cleaning staff, location) but I was not impressed with some of the reception staff (especially on Sturday and Sunday morning). Particularly Sunday morning who was to the point argumentative, unhelpful and did not care for my 'issue'. As result I shall not be staying there again Also for over EUR 325 the room was expensive plus the soap dispensers in the bathroom were both broken and the room had a poor aspect - I had aircon fans outside the window

Hotel is generally pleasant and well located as closed to the city numerous monuments, eating and shopping places. Really appreciated the nice welcome on our arrival: we were offered coupons to get a warm drink, our room had a nice view of the Beffroy, St-Nicolas church... Room was warm enough. The negative point is the room was not soundproof.

Small amount of noise in the early hours but that was because room overlooked central cathedral square. Other than that the stay was fine. Room compact but comfortable, breakfast good. No comp-laints.

My room was fairly small and plain (as expected) but perfect for my needs. It was very clean with excellent beds, great wi-fi, and a basic but more than adequate bathroom. Everything worked. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The room was ready early. The location of the hotel could not be better. Excellent value. Highly recommended

Hotel location was everything we'd hoped. Hotel design is modern and functional and no frills as we expected. Bar and lounge area better than expected. Only downside was lack of information about driving car to hotel. Not enough information on the website about how to get to the hotel, given the quite difficult one way system, or even just warning us that this was a thing. Not clear which street the car park entrance was in (it's not the same as the hotel address). Also no information on the website about the fact that the hotel is in a low carbon area of Ghent, but that it's ok to drive to the hotel and that the reception staff do the registration. I'm also surprised the hotel staff didn't explain this on our arrival. We found out by accident during the first day and had to go and ask what the situation was. We were worried that we should have registered and would be fined for bringing a car in without registering. This could have been avoided if that information had been clearly stated on the website and also explained by the reception staff on arrival.

Everybody receives an email the day before arrival with a city map with the explanation how to get to the hotel parking. If you do not have a parking space booked in advance, then you need to follow the rules of the city. So in that case, driving to the hotel is not an option as you have to drive in an area where you can only drive with registration. We are not allowed to put this on the website as these rules are here because the city of Ghent doesn't want a lot of people to drive here by bar. Otherwise everybody would still come here by car if we would let everybody know in advance. We know it's not the easiest way to getting to our hotel and that it's not very clear, but we as a hotel also need to follow the rules of the city.
