The hotel is comfortable and great value for money. The staff were also very friendly. You can get to Aalst in five minutes, Ghent in 20 minutes and Bruges in 50 minutes. Since the hotel is right next to the motorway, you can be on your way very quickly.

The hotel is like most of the Ibis hotels. However, the hotel need maintenance/upgrade. The corridor, the carpet and access from the garage looks terrible. Lots of parking places in the garage

Too warm in the room. The hotell was not fullt booked, but we got a room at the streetside. Outside there was a horrible smell of sewege.

Stopover on a journey. It was a quite warm day. The room was ok but the airconditioning was very poor. Evening food was OK.

We have usually had good experiences using Ibis hotels as stopovers in France but this was disappointing. The food offering was very poor and consisted of things that could be microwaved or put in the oven - mainly pizza and pasta. No actual cooking was in evidence. To say there is a restaurant is slightly misleading. Breakfast was also poor. On a positive note, it was good to have ev chargers on site.

My sons and I are not 'great travelers'. We tend to make 2-day trips to the various cities, with as a core component the breakfast buffet. This is something dear to us. Of this I have nothing but compliments. The offer at Ibis Aalst was abundant, diverse. We ate until we complained we ate too much. The room itself was basic, which has a negative connotation, but I disagree. Basic is good. Basic is reliable. We take comfort in knowing (roughly) exactly what the experience will be. There were 2 issues, though: -Light and sound emanated through the doorcracks, which made rest difficult (but not impossible) -Some of the towels were improperly cleaned. Some hard stains were not removed. We did not feel comfortable using those towels. The bedding had a similar issue: they were clean, but did not 'smell clean'. I am unsure which product was used, perhaps not enough?
