The location of the hotel is great. Right in the city centre but with good connections to transportation. The hotel was also quiet at night which was essential since I was there for work. The restaurant had a small, but really good menu and overall people were really friendly and helpful.

Very good hotel with very nice staff but unfortunately we had arrived just the night before Belgium was shut down due to Corona.

Hotel is fantastic located in the center of Gent at walking distance from all the highlights and the restaurants.

We had a great stay in the center of Gent. Nice room. Great view at the historic towers and square. The only thing we missed was information about the fact that you need a permit to enter the center of Gent by car and how to reach the Parking garage of the hotel, as it is located in a pedestrian area where cars are forbidden. No-one told us that you need a permit to drive with your car trough the center of Gent. You have to fill in a form on the internet and wait for a day to get the permit. Without a permit you risk a high fee! So very important information that should be given to all the guests!

We wanted a good hotel in a great location to celebrate our wedding anniversary over a long weekend - and we got what we wanted. The hotel has a nice wee restaurant too with tasty food, well presented. Very satisfied with our choice.

The receptionist ask for my Credit card the second night we were staying. This was specifically not required upon checking. Unfortunately this occurred at 1:30 in the morning when my wife and I had had a wonderful meal out and were just tired and wanted to go to bed. The female receptionist on duty was very officious and did not seem empowered to make a decision or a judgement call that this would be best dealt with in the morning Upon the day of checkout I ordered a taxi well in advance to get us to the local railway station as we had a Eurostar train to catch in Brussels. It ended up that this taxi was 35 minutes late and the receptionist team did not seem to be worried about this or even proactive in trying to find an alternative taxi company. This left me frustrated to say the least. The hotel itself is very good as are all the facilities, the adjacent bar and restaurant was very good as well and the location is excellent.

i had an unpleasant room experience during my stay at your hotel. I stayed at the hotel for three nights, the first night I was awakened by itchy skin. I didn't give it too much attention, but it happened again the next night. At last night, I found bedbugs in bed and checked in at the front desk. I showed the receptionist photos of bugs, bites and blood on the sheets. the receptionist moved me to another room during the night which he can personally confirm. in the morning, at check-out he took my contact information and I expected a response from you. However, it has been 5 days since my departure and no one contacted me. I find this very unprofessional on your part, since I expected an apology and a refund for a stay that turned into a traumatic experience. I'll leave you some more time to reply before leaving a review on Booking.com through which I made my reservation. I hope for a positive response from you. Ivan R.

Generally, this was a good hotel with all facilities required and nicely located. For me some minor aspects were the carpets in the room and the bathroom which was not very well cleaned (some stains of previous occupant still visible)

The hotel is located right in the centre of the city so getting around is very easy and you can walk to all attractions. The hotel was clean and tidy everything you expect from a Novotel hotel.

We had rooms overlooking the building site - woken up by alarms at 4:30am from that site and then again at 5am with the work force arriving and working. We were moved after complaining to the front desk but only because the manager on duty (who was super helpful) overheard us talking to the receptionist who told us that there was nothing they could do. Reception was also very unhelpful when we asked for specific directions to places and could give us no recommendations for restaurants for dining. All in all we found the whole experience at Novotel one of frustration but on a positive breakfast was good.

Usual basic hotel. I did not request breakfast. On checkout the bill had breakfasts added and of course they do a 5am “fast checkout” knowing people run off without looking at the pre made bills. Reception says this is standard process to add breakfasts for anyone who does not request it. Invoicing for services not requested nor rendered is fraud. This hotel chain should be avoided.

Ghent city trip. Very easy to checkin. We got the room very early. Standard Novotel room. Very nice bar and breakfast.

We were very well received and the staff was particularly helpfull. The location is central to visit this beautifull city and the "Agneau Mystique" The access by car is difficult because it is located in a pedestrian area (no cars), but there is a good parking in the hotel.
