I had booked a Junior Suite and requested an early check-in by email. On arrival, I was informed that an early check-in was not available. Returning after lunch at 3pm to lengthy queues at reception, I was told that room was not yet ready but eventually got a room key at going up to 4pm. This was a normal room, not a junior suite! Returning again to the queues in reception, I was told that a suite was not available (not mentioned when I was given the key). On my somewhat aggrieved insistence the receptionist said that she must speak to her manager and that I must again wait. Eventually the manager appeared and the situation improved from there. He was apologetic and showed us a suite that was eminently stable, although not on the top, Club, floor. We got into the room at around 5 pm The rest of our stay was good. I still can't understand how someone in the hotel had decided to down grade our reservation and not even mention it at check in. The hotel is in an excellent location, breakfast and bar are good. We'll probably return when we've got over the irritation. Although perhaps not with a car as the parking entrance/exit is incredibly narrow.
