My flights were cancelled due to Cyclone Fina the Mercure found me a room on the bottom floor which was the safest place to be. The staff were amazing the meals the restaurant provided were world class. I felt very safe and was looked after extremely well.

Very disappointing for the price. Got free parking but was a fair way from hotel. The last night we got parking near our room which cost $20 ! But being older people it was more convenient. Buffet breakfast was cold. Hours were 7am to 10.30am. We went at 9.30am. So any later would be worse. Had to ask for a spare toilet roll. Is it that expensive that you can't put a couple of rolls in the room.

I did not add a "review title" as I did not want this published, this is just feedback for the managers as an assist. The room I was allocated (203 Mecure) whilst very clean and tidy was exceptionally noisy because of others, and cleaners making early starts on the rooms in the block. The room had a cell like appearance due to size. No comfortable chair to recline in to watch television and you needed to be an IT expert to get the channel's working and there was no free movies as advertised (at least I couldn't get them going). Also it is the wet season, perhaps an umbrella in the room would have been advantageous to save me running through the rain form the reception area to my cell block. The bath towels were stained and lacked plushness. The refrigerator would not cool anything and there was no freezer to try and keep some ice for cool drinks. No mini bar in the room either. When I did get room service I had to pay a $5.00 fee? But the facilities, pool area, bar and poolside eating area, and food offers was very good, if not excellent.
