I booked a King Room, presume this relates to the size of the bed rather than the room, as the room was really quite small and not as expected. Quite misleading. A minor point, but on arrival I was given my room key not in a cardboard wallet like you normally do, but in a bit of folded over, stapled paper. Not major, but first impressions and all that. No explanation why, very strange. Reception staff not particularly friendly either, or welcoming.

Our King Rooms refer to the bed size, and we appreciate your comments regarding the room size and how this may have differed from what you expected. Regarding the key card holder, on this occasion we had temporarily run out of our standard cardboard wallets, so we had to improvise with an alternative. We apologise that this was not explained to you at the time. We’re also sorry that the welcome you received from our reception team was not as warm and friendly as it should have been. We take your comments seriously and will share your feedback with the team as we continually work to improve our guests’ experience.

Absolutely fine - a frosty “welcome” from miserable front desk staff, and not given the correct type of room. But otherwise, everything else was good

Disappointing that didn’t include diamond breakfast benefit at weekend

Location was very good and the room basic enough for what we needed for 2 night. Check in not so good, as I was made to join a 'rewards scheme' and give all my personal details in order for us to be able to check in slightly earlier. Housekeeping not so good. Basic housekeeping which I would expect i.e. Dirty glasses not removed from the room. Milk not replenished. Beds badly made up (not sure they even had been) . Bins not emptied.

Very poor. For no reason we can fathom we were placed in a disabled room with a wet room and a toilet.

The hotel is in a good location in the centre in walking distance of theatres, restaurants and shopping area. The reception area was well kept. The room, however, was in need of some attention. There were stains on the carpet, the duvet didn’t fit the bed or the cover (it was way too small and didn’t even reach the edges) and the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly (there were black hairs in the shower and the sink still had evidence of toothpaste from a previous occupant). Breakfast was poor. There was none dairy milk but no none dairy yoghurt, the pineapple was brown, the vegan sausage was cold (the “chef” then microwaved them leaving them slimy and most unpleasant), the vegan sausage was just potato and leek so breakfast mainly consisted of potato with potato. The woman on duty however was most helpful. I would not have breakfast in a Style hotel again.

I’m pleased you found our location convenient and that our reception area was well presented, but I’m very sorry that the condition and cleanliness of your room fell short. The stains on the carpet, hairs in the shower and toothpaste left in the sink should absolutely have been picked up before your arrival, and I’m disappointed that our usual standards were not met. I’m also sorry about the duvet provided not being the correct size for the bed. I’ll be sharing these points with our housekeeping and management teams so they can be addressed. I’m also sorry that you were disappointed with breakfast. I appreciate you may not have realised, but breakfast is operated independently by Estábulo Bar & Grill rather than by the hotel. I will nevertheless make sure your detailed comments are passed on to their team, particularly regarding the vegan options and the quality of the food. I’m pleased that the member of staff on duty was helpful and made a positive impression. We really appreciate you taking the time to highlight both the good and the areas where we need to do better.
