The hotel and the rooms are tired, but it is functional and clean, and breakfast is okay

Had a couple of good days

We needed to book one of the accessibility rooms on this occasion and the room was clean and tidy. It was a quiet room on the ground floor, and the room itself was very comfortable. The bathroom itself was a lttle tired and required a little TLC. It was fitted with a low bath with a shower over the bath, unfortunately the shower control was extremely difficult to turn off and I thought I may not be able to operate it. This was mentioned to the receptionist when checking out so hopefully it will be sorted out ASAP. The staff were all very polite and very helpful. Overall a great place to stay in a perfect location for our requirements and we look forward to revisiting.

Check-in experience not great. Access and lift directions were poor. I witnessed several guests wandering around with suitcases appearing slightly lost during my stay! The room was nice but on close inspection not very clean. Crumbs, cobwebs and mould were all present along with stained cups on the second day.The accessible wet-room shower cubicle door was missing leaving dangerous edges. Dinner in the evening was a very pleasant surprise. The food was lovely, the restaurant manager very helpful, friendly and sociable. The chef was most accommodating of my gluten free requirement and went to great effort to provide me with suitable meals during my stay. The female receptionist on the second day delivered a much more positive and friendly approach than our arrival experience.

The hotel was extremely cold as no heating switched on. Only hotel I can think of that does not provide 1 bottle of water in the rooms. Also only Accor property where almost certain not to get upgrade. The excuse this time is that there were 89 guests, but they weren't all singles & the hotel has 103 rooms. Mercure in UK seems to special on managing once grand old Halls that have seen better days which they spend no money on. What could be hotels of a superior standard are the opposite. We always try to use Accor in UK to protect our ALL status by accumulating the points to do so, on our next trip to Bradford we will find alternative accommodation. I cannot believe that all hotels in Bradford are as bad as this one.

Came to see our family who live just 5 minutes away. This made commuting quite easy

I had to get my card renewed to enter my room around 12:30 am No one on the desk I called the number given on reception to gain attention and no one answered. At this time of morning it’s not very good a woman trying to get into her room and nobody answered. I had to look for someone. When I finally found the night porter he said sorry I didn’t answer I’m busy. Seriously he was cleaning up after a do. This is not acceptable

Generally OK. Room OK. Door key cards don't work properly and have to be reset everyday.

Poor decorations with stained carpets. Only one lift to access remote allocated room. Breakfast average.

We had booked to stay for a Sunday overnight as we needed to be in Bradford early the following day. We have stayed with Accor and the Mercure brand many times both here in the UK and abroad (leisure and business) and had great experiences. Our experience booking in at this hotel was not pleasant and the whole stay was sadly beneath the standard we have come to expect from Accor. Reception was unstaffed and it took considerable time before someone finally attended. The first room we were offered had a door coming off its hinges as well as a dirty bath with a plughole clogged with hair. The room smelled odorous. We asked for, and were courteously given, a slightly better room. This smelled fresher and was at least clean but was still of a low standard. The bathroom door would not close and a plastic bag had been placed over the fire sensor in the ceiling. Both were reported to reception. The single glazed window and the poorly functioning radiator meant that the room was not warm for a cool Autumn evening either. Some lighting had been wired into the same circuit as the TV in the room, meaning that reception went off momentarily whenever the light switch was operated. This was also rather a small room for a standard room booking. The annex in which we were placed is not very old but seems to have been built back in the 1980's when the fittings will have been new. Though some items have been upgraded a little and everything was indeed clean, fixtures were rather worn and showed signs of repaired damage; this was particularly true in the bathroom. We didn't feel that physically at least, the hotel represented the Mercure brand well nor Accor. The courtesy and behaviour of the staff on duty was however attentive and good and reflects well on them.

As expected. Acceptable value for price but hotel is drab, worn furnishing and service indifferent. Long queues for understaffed check-in. Only one working lift with long corridor walks and stairs to our room. Very poor choice of bar food and drink. Very slow bar service. Room clean - though there was smell of cigarette smoke in room on our return from a day out on Saturday. Hair drier broke - was reported but not replaced. Door card access intermittently failed.

Lovely welcome from man on reception. Super quiet and comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent in the morning.

Had a great break, Mercure offers an ideal location for touring locally at reasonable vost.
