Brilliant service throughout, the staff couldn't do enough for us. Our room was very nice and cosy, brilliant large bed. My food allergy was taken into consideration and thete wete no problems. We all had a little gift on Christmas day!

This hotel does not do the Mercure name any favours at all. The whole place is run down and in urgent need of a refurbishment. My room was smallish and old fashioned, with a mixture of types of old furniture in poor condition. The chair had marks on it, the heater had one wheel missing and the other broken altogether, the basin had lamination splitting and peeling, the timber around the window was degrading and peeling, there were water stains and dust on the fittings. Luckily I was only there for one night and only paying £42. We were offered a free drink if we lodged a review so the barman watched as we went through the process before he would give us our drink. The bar was small and dominated by a large TV. We had our drink in a corridor outside. The shower water pressure was weak and the temperature luke warm. I opened the window to see smouldering pile in the garden that was apparently a bon fire the night before. It was like the end of the world. Breakfast was actually OK with a wide variety of typical options including eggs, bacon and croissants.

Check-in key collection chaotic. Dining room cold. Disabled parking not near entrance. Room fine and a bed for the night in a 'difficult' building.

Stopped to enquire about room rates and availability for some customers of ours and recieved a parking fine, beware, will not be using this hotel

Our car park is managed by a third-party parking company, and registration is required even for short visits. However, this should have been clearly explained to you, and we are sorry that this did not happen on this occasion.
