Booked the hotel with a group of friends as it was ideally located for where we wanted to go, excellent on site car parking and really good value for money. Room was basic but clean, quiet. Very good breakfast.

The hotel is in need of a major refurb in all areas, the smell of old stale buildings was off putting from the second we arrived, although the building has gothic design this is lost with the decor. food at the reception on the evening meal was bearly edible, breakfast the next day was good but not enough to make the over all experience better, staff where helpful when needed. Overall the stay was let down by the building and lack of good food.

Noisy cleaners woke me up

I don’t usually complain or have very high expectations of a hotel as long as it’s clean and I can sleep im usually satisfied. I’m more upset than angry because I had worked 10 days without a day off and after work on Friday I drove 4.5 hours from London to the hotel as I was visiting a friend before a serious op. I chose to book a hotel so I could get a decent rest from my long drive and long days at work. Unfortunately this was not the case. At 8am I could hear music playing .. and loud conversations outside my door for over an hour. I deliberately did not add breakfast to my stay in the hope I could sleep in and have a rest. Clearly my room was next to the cleaners cupboard. I can forgive hotel stayers but honestly your cleaners need to be more considerate or at least put me in a room that would be more quiet. I told the check in guys when I checked in I had done a long drive and was staying for the rest. Also to make matters worse I called at 11am in the morning to say I was running 10 min late and was told it was fine to have someone knock on my door at 11:07 telling me I had to vacate the room. I have stayed at so many hotels and have never experienced this before. Bizarre. It was not even a 15 min grace period before they came knocking. And it’s not like you was in a rush to get the room back because the car park was barely full. Having staying at other branches of this hotel and had wonderful experiences this one was disappointing. Oh and to add your check in guy was trying to charge me when I had already pre paid for the room. However it may the fact he might of been new which I can understand but doesn’t add to the poor stay I had.

This hotel was in an excellent location in Bingley for the work we were undertaking locally. It lies between Keighley & Bradford making this very accessible. It was good value for money compared to other hotels/accommodation in the local area.

We normally visit the area every month or so and the Mercure offers the best value when you include breakfast. On this visit we were upgraded to a superior room which was a nice touch. The receptionist also remembered our last visit when she booked us in,which again is a nice personal touch.
