This hotel was a huge letdown. The photos online look great, but they are completely misleading. In reality, the décor appears not to have been updated for decades. The carpets were threadbare, paint was peeling off the walls, and the whole place felt tired and poorly maintained. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the room felt unsafe. The security chain on the door had been ripped off, and as a lone female traveller I was given a room with an adjoining door. This made me extremely uncomfortable, to the point where I placed a chair in front of the door to feel secure. The hotel was also very noisy at night, with activity in the corridors that made me feel unsafe (it appeared there may have been prostitutes working there). The restaurant was not serving food on either evening of my stay, which was never communicated in advance. Breakfast was awful. The cooked items were buffet-style and cold, and the pastries were overcooked and hard. Overall, this hotel did not meet even basic expectations for comfort, cleanliness, or safety. I would not stay here again and would strongly caution others, especially solo female travellers.

Nice receptionist who was possibly West Indian used the correct pronouns and room was lovely with a view of the car park so that I could people watch and traffic watch . This hotel is becoming a favourite of mine as stayed twice before . It’s much cheaper than staying in central Leeds and there is a direct bus from Leeds numbered 60 and 60A that passes the hotel

Excellent value for money. Whilst it clearly needs a refresh for the cost it was good. I also have to say all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay again.

Overall it was fine. Room and bathroom were pleasant and clean. Unfortunately there was no chicken available for chicken Caesar salad in the evening and Sunday breakfast- well, lots of gaps and long waits- no bacon at all despite staff telling us it was being cooked! Also lady serving , clearing tables, filling foodstuffs when they trickled out, was on her own. Very poor.

The lack of chicken for the Caesar salad and the delays and shortages at breakfast, particularly the absence of bacon, are not the standard we aim to provide.
