The Admiral is fantastic hotel. The room was very comfortable, the staff were all very friendly. Given my Accor status, they kindly upgraded us to have a bay view and access to the lounge. The lounge itself is the back half of the main lobby area, so while that doesn't make it feel quite as exclusive as if it were in it's own space, the expanse of high foyer and ambiance make it very pleasant, and the happy hour drinks and nibbles from 5pm to 7pm go down a treat. A place to go to is Ruby Wong's Godown, in the basement - a fantastic bar with a great barman making cocktails. The only downside to the hotel I found was the buffet breakfast. While expansive, all the food that should be hot (eg bacon, hash browns) is barely lukewarm. Keeping the hot food hot is always a challenge in these buffets, but I felt that it didn't meet a bare minimum in that regard. I would get the chef at the egg station to pop those items into his pan for a minute to heat them up, and he was very obliging. But overall, an extremely nice stay, and I would definitely return.

As a gold member I’m supposed to be upgraded to a higher room, should get late checkouts and should get discounts and F&B outlets. I know there was availability for a room upgrade because I received an email offering me a paid upgrade the day before. While I got a slightly later checkout, other Accor hotels give me up to 16:00. Can’t say I was that impressed.

We regret that due to high occupancy during your stay dates, we were unable to accommodate your request for a late check-out and room upgrade. This is certainly not the level of efficiency and professionalism we strive to provide, especially to our valued ALL Accor Gold members. Regarding the room upgrade, I understand how receiving a paid upgrade offer prior to arrival may have created the impression that complimentary upgrade availability existed. Please allow me to clarify that automated pre-arrival upgrade offers are managed separately from the complimentary upgrade inventory allocated for loyalty benefits, and availability can fluctuate right up until arrival. Your loyalty is genuinely appreciated, and it is disappointing to know we left you less than impressed. Please be assured your feedback has been shared with the relevant teams to review how we communicate and deliver our member benefits more clearly and consistently.
