A pleasant family stay

We enjoyed our stay. However, the website was difficult to navigate and find useful information, such as the price of breakfast. The accommodations were nice; however, there was no real workspace other than a small portable table. The beds were comfortable, and the cold fruit drinks in the minibar were a welcome surprise. The carpets appeared dirty due to their nature, I recommend using a darker, different material. I am uncertain if my points were credited to my account or not, that could have been specified more clearly during check-in. Also, a small play area for children would have been nice, especially during the winter and inclement weather conditions. All in all a positive experience

Nice location, but needs removation.

The hotel badly needs renovation. Thigs are broken in the bathroom and in the bedrooms, the carpet is dirty and stained, the HVAC system is loud and has limited controls. There was no hair-dryer (and apparently no way to get one from the reception). To be fair, the renovation is already in progress on some floors -- so I hope the hotel will be improved soon. It's a convenient and pleasant location right on the river next to a park and beautiful broadwalk. Definitely has a potential.

Well presented hotel, friendly staff but bed too firm for my liking.

A well presented hotel with clean modern presentation throughout and well located near the river, which is nice for taking a walk. Staff are friendly and helpful. Only fault was the bed mattress being too firm and pillows a bit flat for my liking so I did not get the most comfortable sleep.

Renovation cannot come soon enough !

Having stayed in many Mercure hotels around the world this really was the most disappointing. The manager informed us that the hotel is due for a complete renovation as it dates back to the 60’s but that really should be stated up front when looking on line as it is really tatty. Perhaps that also explained why they asked for full payment when we checked in, our mistake to oblige. However this didn’t explain why the breakfast was so poor with overcooked frozen pastries and poor selection, they couldn’t even oblige my wife with a poached egg. Maybe give this a miss till the renovation is done !
