The staff was very helpful and courteous, the breakfast was delicious and well presented. The rooms were clean but we had a huge spider on the wall above the bed. Luckily for us, we saw her before sleeping. The window has a small hole, this might be how she entered the room. We didn't realised the heat was off in our two rooms (we had our kids in the adjacent room) before we woke up in the morning freezing. The hotel need clearly renovation. Besides all that, it's perfectly located in Macon and on our trip to the Alps.It's a walking distance to shops and pharmacy. Next time, hoping to try the pool during our summer trip. Again, very pleased by your staff

While usually the stay is fine this time all the benefits of being a Platinum member have been forgotten. Most likely a punctual situation which will be corrected before my next one.

The Location was fine and the staff was friendly. Also the complementary drinks (Platinum member) were provided. However, the food was the worst and unfresh I have ever experienced during my many stays in hotels. The meat was stinking and dry, the chicken was old and dry, it was so bad we only could eat bread. Also the breakfast next morning was so bad.....This trip was private with my wife, I have spend before Covid (and will be soon traveling again) many nights in many Accor hotels and told her I really appreciate the service, especially Mercure but how wrong was I this time. I never complained before but this was to bad. Also the room was unclean, full of flies and spiders.

Very nice stay! We don't understand why some online reviews are so negative. The online checkin was very nice, after a long drive we ended up quickly in the hotel room. The food is very nice and what we expect from a hotel in this class. The exterior of the hotel could use some maintenance, but inside the hotel is quite nice. The bar and restaurant are good, the personnel is very nice. Fast checkout was handled quite nicely with a large reserve on the credit card and an e-mail during the night with the final invoice. Only small downside was that the guy behind the reception didn't seem to be aware of the fast checkout, so that still took a bit of time as it took him some time to figure out the room was already paid for, including the restaurant costs and such. But overall very nice stay on our way from Côte d'Azur to the Netherlands, allowing us to visit the city of Mâcon quite easily (nice walk along the Sâone).

Many things to be improved

- I reserved 4 rooms for 6 and 8 nights for me and my family - I am ALL Diamond, so one of the most loyal customers - I received the smallest rooms although I am used to get an upgrade due to status. The reception said they were fully booked and the upgrade was not possible and besides upgrades were at the discretion of the hotel. After several rounds of discussions I got one express breakfast for me and my husband as courtesy. I realized that many guests stayed only one night as a stop over so I was wondering if the upgrade would not have been possible since we were staying much longer - the rooms were not only small but also smelly and either the safes were out of order (low battery) and were not repaired despite having asked twice. Further, the electricity plugs in the bathroom were out of order and parts of the lightning in the bathroom was not working. - window sills were extremely dirty - the breakfast service was a disaster. We were waiting for the express (!) breakfast 40min two days in a row. In order to shorten waiting times the other days we were “allowed” to help ourselves at the buffet and coffee machines in the regular breakfast room. There we could observe that coffee machines were broken down, staff was completely overwhelmed with tidying up tables, filling up the buffet, cleaning, etc. They were obviously also not trained since they way of working was very inefficient. They might have been also understaffed. - more than one time the room access cards were not working and on the last evening even the card coding machine was broken down and they needed to find someone in the whole hotel having the all-access-key to open the rooms. Afterwards we could not leave our rooms again since the same story would have started again Overall this hotel is not worth more than 2,5 stars instead of 4 stars. As a loyal customer i am used to much higher standards regarding rooms and service and I would expect from the group some compensation for this overall dissatisfying stay. I was planning to spend half of my time in the next two years in your Hotels but would reconsider my plans in case needed.

Very disappointed with the dining room.

We were disappointed to be in a double room with one chair and one bedside table. What is that all about? Supposed to be 4 star. The service in the dining room was awful. Very slow and the food was cold. Basically the staff were friendly but need training. Never return to the kitchen empty handed. We should not have had to ask for bread and water but it was not provided. Prices were 4 star but food and service were two star.

Great Location !!!! A rather old property, clean, very dedicated staff.... strange bar though.... nice pool area... I was unlucky that I did not get a river-view room.... hence early booking is very advisable

Very good hotel room, but very bad hotel management and service

After our good experiences last year, we decided to book this hotel again this year. Upon arrival at the end of the afternoon the receptionist was the the only staff member in the entire hotel. The hotel was fully booked and he was responsable for the reception, bar and terrace. He tried to make the best of it. Outside the building needs urgent refurbishment. The garden as well as the boxes for plants and flowers at the terrace have not seen a gardener in months. Several lampposts on the parking were not working or damged. (we already noticed that during our visit two weeks earlier!) In short: BAD MANAGEMENT, ACCOR unworthy!!! The general Manger, mrs. Parole had of course the weekend off, and we could not reach her, or any assistant, to take our complaints.

Very beautiful location near the Saone river, Macon's city center just a 15-minute walk, also a park right next to the hotel. Staff very welcoming and helpful, the bed is incredibly comfortable. Unfortunately, the state of the room was not up to the "privilege" title. Some items were damaged and/or not maintained very well. The sofabed is probably much better as a bed but we did not need it. And the AC was heating too much despite the low temperature setting (we had to switch it off and open the window on arrival). It was vell worth the sale price, but I'm not sure I would book the same room for the full price.

Rather old hotel but still acceptable. Breakfast was, as usually in the french Mercure Hotels, too average. The choice of the restaurant card was very limited. This may not be a problem if on the other hand the quality is on top. But unfortunatly, and the dinner was disappointing (dry chicken, almost no sauce, sweet potatoes fries being flabby, no crunch at all and totally oily).
