Used the hotel whilst travelling through. Just off the motorway, easy parking. Pet friendly. Rooms are quite big, clean and good shower. Mini fridge, and massive TV.

I have been at this hotel every year for 20 years, it has now become very poor and I will not be spraying there again. Upon arrival I was greeted by an unfriendly man who told me that there was no room service and that was the same throughout France, so I took the key. I then phoned the Novotel in Beaune only to find that they were offering a full room service menu! I immediately went back to reception and told the man that I did not appreciate being lied to and that I wanted to cancel the , this he did. I then had to drive to Beaune where II got a proper welcome. I can promise you that I will never stay at Macon again. I see little point in spouting on about being glad to see us etc etc if it is not true.

Very friendly people from Novotel gave us a welcome feeling. Hotel is a bit older but the location next to route du Soleil and the room sizes are very good.

Clean and quiet rooms, very friendly team in the restaurant - despite the breakfast buffet being a bit overwhelmed in the morning (a second coffee machine would be good)

We weee very scared to book a hotel last minute with Covid, but Novotel was immediately considered the best choice has it has a very professional management and usually well managed restaurant. Macon Novotel rooms looked quite old and need refreshing though. Also the carpet in corridors are old and stained.

Friendly booking process over the telephone and hotel was able to find us a room with 4 beds so we could stay as family. Hotel was busy but we got bar service, again friendly Room was probably not used much and perhaps time for a freshen up....

The rooms / corridors need refurbishing. The beds were comfortable. There was no milk in the room to go with tea/coffee, and only one teabag. And who wants to drink tea out of a paper up?

My name is Tony B. Silver Member.. I am staying in the Novotel Macon Nord Today (Check in 20/02/2020 Check out 21/02/2020) All I can say is I am having a bad experience I have stayed here before many times as it a good stop off before Monaco/ Geneva. So today I decided to go the restaurant when I was sat down I was given a menu in French, I waited for the waitress to stop serving a gentleman that sat down the same time as me. when she got to me I asked do you have the same menu but in English said No, I asked do you do burger or chips and steak. she said no then decided to shrug her shoulders and walk off. when she returned I asked again do you have a english menu or chips and burger or chips and steak (which I have seen on TripAdvisor at this hotel) as I wasn't going to order food off a menu I can't read or understand! she decided to try read and teach me french whilst pointing at the french menu which I found rude, demoralizing and disheartening specially being dyslexic. After this rude disgusting manner then went to the reception to complain asking for the manger but wasn't hotel manger on site at 7pm. I complained asking why there wasn’t english menu available or the french menu translated into english. then the waitress who had rude manner from the start decided to come to the front desk as well I told the reception staff name Eric who strangely looked like a Manger my room number (227) and the rude waitress repeated the room which I thought also rude. I said how can you not have an english menu this hotel is on the main route to Geneva/ Monaco which many English people have stayed here before. I wrote the waitress and receptionist name down (nathale or Natalie and Eric I believe) she then decided to get closer to me which is disgusting behaviour. The reception did offer chips and drink which is to late specially when that rude waitress is on site. I have asked for a full refund and I will not be staying here again! Sorry for any spelling mistake I am dyslexic. Regards, Tony

Positives - good location just off the motorway, clean and large rooms, 4 person room (surprisingly rare in France), decent breakfast. Negatives: The hotel is getting quite tired, restaurant isn't great and really can't cope when the hotel is busy plus there aren't many alternative food options nearby (I think the nearest is a 5 minute drive). The restaurant is also quite expensive for what it is.

We had a 4 person room (Double plus 2 small singles). Room was spacious and clean. Cafe/restaurant for dinner was fine (a couple of the dishes were a little expensive but the quality was good). Breakfast was great.

The hotel was fine - as expected. The only issue being the smelly pillows and cupboards in the room. Smelt like mildew.

We have stopped at this Novotel hotel at least 4 times previously on our drives through France from the UK and it has always been an ok to pleasant experience. This time we found that the restaurant had improved a lot. BUT - we were charged twice on my credit card for the stay (which I now just noted on return from holiday) AND our front tires on our car were intentionally deflated while parked over night in the hotel parking lot and made flat and the receptionist did not seem to note the security issue of this act of vandalism.
