Everything was first class loss of one star was because the breakfast on day three was haphazard We waited over an hour for hot food while at least four tables came after us were served and away I asked twice about where my food was no explanation. When it finally came it wasn’t as I ordered waitress said she would change it but we did not have time so left

Condition of bedroom/bathroom dated and in poor condition- in need to of complete overhaul. Room extremely warm and stuffy - no ac. Windows single glazed- poorly fitted and room noisy. Majority of staff seemed clueless- expect the head housekeeper and morning waiter. Breakfast first morning was appalling. Would definitely not stay again and recommend that others avoid. Absolutely not worth the price being charged.

Was intending to stay on Monday 15th Nov 21, checked in, reception staff very nice, went out to dinner before a show and my friend took ill, unfortunately we had to return home so didn't get the full experience of the Mercure Gotel, will hopefully be able to rebook in the future

Ideal location in the heart of Glasgow, found the rooms of adequate size considering the age of the hotel and the city centre location. Room was very warm and although the window does open there is another pain of glass on the outside of the window. This meant the window gap was possibly 1cm wide which didn't let much in the way of air in the room. Breakfast was very nice and certainly plenty choice. OVeral a pleasant if not warm stay.

It’s a really good location and the bed and pillows were so comfy. The food was mostly ok. I say mostly because it wasn’t the same if you ordered the same dish on a different day. The soup once didn’t have croutons and then had flat white bread next to it which had gone hard but the day before it was crouton free which was better and then with lovely buns by it which is usual for soup. The lift was a bit jittery when it stopped which felt like it could fall to be honest. I liked that they didn’t clean the room daily because this is more sustainable and I could use the same towel and not be wasteful with washing a clean towel. The Scottish staff were so friendly but one lady from Europe was so unhelpful it was quite shocking when I was trying to order a cab. Such a shame as the rest of the staff were so lovely and helpful. The internet was quite bad and that was a hindrance when I wanted to work. Overall it’s a 3 star so it was a good stay.

The room was very small, the carpet and decorations need replacing. New towels are required. The lift is the most uncomfortable ride ever and needs a service

Great for a city break

Stayed here with a friend for a couple of days , we were both amazed by the location 5 minutes walk from Queen st Station. Also it is right in the middle of some great restaurants and bars. This hotel wasnt here the last time i stayed in glasgow so it is nice to know I have another alternative to my usual haunts The rooms were nice (if a bit small) and the soundproofing was brilliant , couldnt hear any noise from outside. The views onto Glasgow from both our rooms were eclectic The only bad things about the Hotel were the size of the bar area and the restaurant which are "bijou" Great for a pint before going out but not somewhere you could spend the evening chilling

Chose to stay here for my wife’s birthday, little did I know we wouldn’t get much sleep due to extremely loud guests until 4/5am extremely noisy lift going all night and a radiator that decided to click most of the night! Extremely disappointed especially as it’s wasn’t a cheap stay.. all in all a bad experience

Although hotel a bit dated we found our stay and twin room most pleasant. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Lovely towels and very clean. Found it good value for money. Only complaint I had was in having a hot shower. In the morning my friend went for a shower first but when I went to shower after her the water was cold.

My room was very small and too hot even though the radiator wasn’t on. The cold tap delivered warm water and not nice to drink. Breakfast was very basic, the granary French bread rolls were stale. Horrible individual plastic jams. Some in sachets which were useless to open. The scrambled egg I ordered looked like a poached egg that had been chopped up. Some basic improvements would make a huge difference: Fresh and interesting bread selection Chef that knows how to cook breakfast aswell as porridge. Quality glass jam jars. Quality fruit basket. (Forget the sliced fruit, unless done to order, it looked pale and dried out on the buffet) Staff that aren’t constantly looking at their phones.

My stay as an advocacy and Support Worker for Rape Crisis was to accompany a survivor to court. The court services book and pay for this person's accommodation and meals. For the first time in my years of experience I was told by reception that no such arrangement had been made. This added unnecessary anxiety and stress to an already difficult situation. I will not be staying with you again.
