Alison H. Couples - Confirmed reviews ALL

We stayed for 2 nights to attend a wedding in Glasgow. We had booked an accessible room as my husband is a wheelchair user. Getting into the hotel was the first hurdle, the door to get into the hallway for the lift opens in and the lift door opens out causing a lot of hassle to get in and out. We were shocked by the appearance in the hallways, scuffed wallpaper and skirting boards. Our room was adequate but very run down with chipped furniture. The room was also very hot even with both windows opened so we had to request a fan. We had booked dinner and breakfast but we were told the dining area was up a flight of stairs so a table would be set in the bar area. This was inappropriate as the tables were either to low or too high for a wheelchair user as well as feeling like a complete outsider. The only saving grace of the hotel was their friendly staff, especially at breakfast time. All in all we would not stay in this hotel again.

Dear Alison H., Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. I’m very sorry to hear that your stay did not meet expectations, especially given the importance of your visit to Glasgow. The challenges you faced with accessibility, room condition and comfort, and the dining arrangements are deeply concerning and far from the experience we aim to provide. We sincerely apologise for the difficulties your husband encountered when entering the hotel and using the lift area. Your comments about the condition of the hallways and the room, as well as the excessive heat, have been passed on to our maintenance and housekeeping teams for urgent review. We also understand how disappointing and isolating it must have felt to be seated in an unsuitable area for meals, and we are grateful you highlighted this so we can address it properly. On a positive note, we’re pleased to hear that our team — particularly at breakfast — made a good impression. They will truly appreciate your kind words. Thank you again for your honest feedback. We regret that your experience was not what it should have been, and we will use your comments to improve the accessibility and comfort we offer. Sincerely, Rohan Jain Mercure Glasgow Team

Robert T. Business - Confirmed reviews ALL

Not great. I chose to leave a night early. The room was tired, gloomy and miserable. Breakfast was quite poor. I had a ‘special’ that was avocado on toast and I couldn’t cut the toast with a knife. I should have made comment while I was there but I just couldn’t be bothered to have to and some of these things just aren’t fixable.

Dear robert t., Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m very sorry to hear that your stay fell short of expectations and that you chose to leave early. The issues you’ve described — from the condition and atmosphere of the room to the quality of breakfast — are disappointing to hear and not reflective of the experience we aim to provide. Your comments about the room feeling tired and gloomy, as well as the difficulty with your breakfast dish, have been passed on to our team so we can review and address these concerns. We completely understand your frustration, and we appreciate you highlighting these points even though you didn’t feel up to raising them during your stay. Thank you again for your honest feedback. We hope you might consider giving us another opportunity in the future to provide a much more positive and comfortable experience. Sincerely, Rohan Jain Duty Manager Mercure Glasgow Team
