Good day. My family and I were extremely disappointed with our stay at the hotel. Every year, we stayed at the Mercyre Bangkok Siam Hotel and booked a room for two adults. The child was accommodated free of charge, regardless of their age. We only paid for breakfast. This year, we were charged for the child upon arrival. Despite the fact that we arrived at the hotel at 5 p.m. and left at 2 a.m. the following morning. We offered to pay with points, but I was refused. Since the room was booked through trip.com. But after all, the surcharge for the child was taken already on the spot at the hotel, that is, it is an additional service. Why couldn't I pay with points? The next day, 5000 points were simply burned. When booking, in the additional wishes, I indicated that we would be with a child. If the hotel's policy has changed this year and a fee is now required for children, why didn't the hotel contact me as a member of the Accor Club and inform me in advance? Why couldn't I pay with points?

Regarding the child policy, please kindly be informed that as indicated on Trip.com, additional charges may apply for children using existing bedding. It is also recommended to include the number of children during the booking process in order to receive the most accurate pricing. In this case, the reservation was made for 2 adults only, while the accompanying child is over 12 years old. Therefore, an additional charge was applied in accordance with the hotel’s policy. Had the correct number of guests been indicated at the time of booking, the appropriate rate would have been reflected from the outset. With regard to the use of points, as your reservation was made through a third-party platform (Trip.com) and not directly via Accor channels, we regret to inform you that it is not eligible for earning or using Accor points, in line with Accor loyalty program terms and conditions. Concerning the mention of 5,000 points being deducted, we have conducted an initial internal check and have not identified any deduction made by the hotel at this stage. We would be grateful if you could kindly share any supporting details or screenshots related to this matter so that we may investigate further and assist you accordingly.
