Here’s a polished English version of your review, ready for international platforms like TripAdvisor or Google Reviews. --- Pullman Phuket Arcadia Naithon Beach – my biggest regret of this Phuket trip, and that’s saying something. As a Trip.com Black Diamond member who stays at a dozen resort hotels every year, I’m no stranger to the quirks of hillside properties. But this hotel managed to shatter my expectations of a “relaxing getaway” at almost every turn. On our very first night, I turned on the “Do Not Disturb” sign. Yet at 11 a.m. the next morning, housekeeping knocked and walked in anyway. Only later was I told that this hotel’s button logic is the exact opposite of 99% of hotels worldwide – illuminated means “please clean” instead of “do not disturb.” Yes, I admit my mistake, but for an international brand to design such counterintuitive signage is unforgivable. Worse, after I correctly switched it off, someone tried to open the door again just 20 minutes later. I came to Phuket to rest, not to play hide‑and‑seek with housekeeping. Then came the service response – or rather, the complete lack of it. When we finally asked for cleaning after waking up, no one showed up. Three phone calls and a whole meal outing later, the room was still untouched. Only the fourth call, now with raised voices, got them to act. Meanwhile, housekeeping records will show that I requested a toothbrush and a razor on day one – three separate calls. They delivered the toothbrush but the razor never came, not even by checkout. The same went for the broken shower gel pump; I reported it on the first day, and it remained broken until we left, as if mocking my hope for basic maintenance. Ordering Grab food at night was a farce. The guard took the delivery but no one told us where to pick it up. Reception and security passed the buck back and forth, so I had to walk out into the dark myself – only to find my dinner abandoned on the front desk counter, unwatched and unsanitary. On checkout day, we had lunch at the hotel restaurant. A server brought a smoothie we never ordered. We sent it back, and when I went to pay, the staff kept arguing about it. I finally said, “It’s only a few hundred baht – just add it if you can’t cancel it.” The cashier agreed to void it, but as I stood up to leave, the same waiter chased after us with the dessert in hand, insisting we had ordered it. At that moment, I felt less like a guest on holiday and more like a suspect in an interrogation. And the buggy service – oh, the buggy. This hillside hotel relies on shuttles, but theirs are agonisingly slow. Reception called to say “the buggy is here,” yet we waited nearly 20 minutes under the scorching sun before it crawled into view. What should have been a cheerful dinner outing turned into a sweaty, grumpy group of people, all because of a shuttle that never comes on time. The only warm face in this entire stay was the restaurant hostess – her smile was the hotel’s last shred of dignity. But one smile cannot cover so many cracks. After we checked out and moved to another hillside resort, the contrast was night and day: prompt buggies, attentive housekeeping, instant responses. The difference was like two different worlds. This wasn’t a holiday – it was three days of frustration, waiting, and disappointment. If this is what Pullman calls a “resort experience,” then my honest advice to future guests is: think twice, and then think again.

Dear Xi H., I have read your review more than once, and what concerns me most is that your frustration was not caused by one isolated incident. It was a series of service breakdowns across different parts of your stay, and I completely understand how exhausting and disappointing that must have felt when you came to Phuket simply hoping to relax. We have reviewed your comments point by point with the teams involved. Starting with the room, the confusion surrounding the Do Not Disturb and room-cleaning control clearly did not help. Even though you acknowledged the initial misunderstanding, the system should be intuitive and clearly explained to our guests. More importantly, once you requested room cleaning, it should never have required several calls before someone responded. The same applies to your requests for a toothbrush and razor, as well as the reported shower-gel pump. These are basic requests that should have been completed properly and followed through without you having to repeatedly chase us. Regarding the Grab food delivery, for hygiene, HACCP, and safety reasons, external delivery riders are not permitted to enter the hotel guest areas, and our team members are likewise not authorised to deliver outside food directly to guest rooms. However, the real issue in your case was the lack of clear communication from the first point of contact. You should have been informed immediately where and how to collect your order, rather than being passed between Security and Reception and eventually having to walk out in the dark to locate it yourself. We have reviewed this process with the teams involved and are reinforcing a clearer and more consistent explanation from the very beginning. We have also discussed the restaurant incident with our Food & Beverage team. Being repeatedly questioned about an item you said you had not ordered, particularly while you were trying to settle the bill and leave, understandably added to an already frustrating stay. Regardless of how the misunderstanding occurred, it should have been handled calmly and professionally without making you feel uncomfortable or as though you had done something wrong. Your comments regarding the buggy service have also been taken seriously. At a hillside resort such as ours, the buggy is not simply an added convenience; for many guests, it is an important part of moving around the property. Being told that the buggy had arrived and then having to wait nearly 20 minutes under the sun is clearly not the level of service we aim to provide. What your review tells us very clearly is that the biggest issue was a lack of ownership and follow-through. Too many times during your stay, you had to call again, ask again, wait again, or explain the same situation to another person. No guest should have to manage their own service recovery while on holiday. I am grateful that, despite everything that happened, you still mentioned the warmth of our restaurant hostess. We will make sure she knows that her genuine hospitality stood out during what was otherwise a very disappointing experience for you. Unfortunately, I cannot turn back time and change what happened during your stay. What I can do is make sure that we learn from it and use your experience as a meaningful lesson for the future. I am genuinely grateful that you took the time to explain everything in such detail. Feedback like yours is not always easy to receive, but it is incredibly valuable because it helps us see exactly where we failed to connect the dots and where we need to improve. Deep down, I also hope that one day you may be willing to give us another chance.
