We have been staying at this hotel once or twice a year, for several years, because of its location not far from the station and shops. This time, we found that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment, which was not quite complete. We do not use the other facilities of the hotel, so this review will focus specifically on our room. The refurbishment of the rooms has meant the layout has changed such that there is less surface space on which to keep items or to work, e.g. there would be limited space on which to place a laptop and work comfortably. In our case, it meant that we could not comfortably keep a kettle and cups, and personal items. The bed itself is the same, and was reasonably comfortable. However, the air conditioning was not working and was not warming the room. The hotel provided a separate heater on request. On several days, there was no hot water for the sink or the shower, which the hotel said was due to a problem with the plumbing. We also noticed an unpleasant smell from the shower drain. The bathroom refurbishment has been nicely done, but not all of the fittings have been correctly assembled. The TV has been changed to a Smart TV, which was a pleasing improvement. The staff were pleasant and always did their best to accommodate our concerns.

We were given two interconnected family rooms. The kids loved it. The parking is closed to the hotel. Breakfast is available from 7 to noon. But if you arrive after 10:00 am, there is not too much left. Alexis, the staff member worked hard to satisfy all customers. He was on his own, the hotel was full. He did a very good job.
