Ibis checks all the boxes for an easy and cheap stay in the south of Saigon. For around 30 usd a night, I had a good night rest in a good location (for an event I participated in) with a decent bed, bathroom and breakfast. Staff are friendly and efficient, both during check in and check out, and I really like the fact that breakfast is served at the Novotel next door, with plenty of Western and Asian options. Overall, if you need to be in the south of the city, I can fully recommend the Ibis for an easy and good stay.
