I have been quite disappointed with Sofitel Queenstown. Reasons are that I was expecting much more cosyness and luxury for the price that I was paying per night. Rooms look a bit dated and most of all, boring and without any luxury or cosy touches in the room. The sheep fur on the bed was the only decoration suggesting a bit of that. Beside that, very plain furniture and bathroom. Not even the fancy curtains that can be seen on most of the room photos from the website. Also view is disappointing for most of the rooms and junior suites. The service and staff in that hotel was lovely, no question about that. However, for a Sofitel (which I usually really like) and for this price tag I expect an paramount Queenstown experience - which I sadly didnt get.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is perfectly located and well run. We appreciated the drinking water provided in the room. The bathroom was lovely with everything you might need. We would happily stay here again.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay with the Sofitel Queenstown. It is situated next to the steps to the Gondola, is in the town centre but on the edge of it so we were not in a crowded area. We enjoyed walking around the town centre, the tour pickup points were all in easy walking distance to the hotel. Walked to the excellent Botswana Butchery restaurant located by the picturesque lakeside, and ... for burger fans, the Fergburger is just 2 minutes walk away !
