Stayed for the 2nd time in two weeks at this hotel, great location, accommodation and friendly staff. Comfortable beds and surrounds. Will defiantly stay again and recommend. Good size beads and rooms with fridge and tea/ coffee making facilities.

We arrived early on Tuesday afternoon understang that being early our room might not be ready. We appreciared the service by the wonderful receptionist who quickly found us a room on the ground floor with immexiate access to the lake front. We quickly settled in and met up with whānau, enjoyiny our grandchildren using the room as a base for their frolicking in the lake. We spent some time that afternoon evening with family on the boardwalk, getting back fo the hotel just after 9. Although tbe bar was formally closed the bartender gra iously served us a couple of dri ms before closing up. Breakfast was a treat the next morning with the chef preparing to perfection my soft yolk poached eggs. Servicing of the room on the second day was also top notch. Will definitely recommend the hotel to friends, and will come back again.

We had booked through Expedia not realising that Novotel was part of Accor which we have previously used overseas as well. We had booked a "family" room with two double beds for two adults & two children for three nights. The room was fine but after the first night sleep we quickly concluded that we had underestimated the size of the beds. The front desk helped us looking at other options to accommodate our needs and we ended up adding another room for the last two nights so that everyone had plenty of sleep space. I'd like to thank the team for helping find a suitable solution - and as feedback might add that double beds could maybe be upgraded to queen sizes for more comfort :-)

It was great to be able to check in earlier than the standard 2 or 3pm time. With small children this flexibility meant we had access to the room after a morning trip to Queenstown.

Was good, staff are always friendly. This time thought we ordered some champagne at the restaurant which was $103 a bottle, however was brought a different bottle and then charged $130 because you didn't have stock.

Stayed here with a group of friends, and we all had the same complaints. The bedrooms were good, however the size and condition of the bathrooms were not great at all. The bathrooms were dated, our door was broken at the bottom, there was black mould in places and the main gripe being the showers were just too small. The bathrooms also had absolutely no ventilation, which meant that every time someone had a shower, the whole bathroom was wet.. and I mean wet. The walls, toilet roll, floors, everything was totally wet. The bedrooms that we had were the Lakeside view in the 415, 413, 417.

Really good as we always stay at the novotel. For some reason my accor number has not been put in your system so we may have missed out on some benefits. Was a bit annoyed that I'd prepaid the room as we were initially having 3 adults in the room and the rate was high. When I decided to get another room so we'd have two in one room and two in another I couldn't change the booking from the initial three which I felt wasnt fair. This didn't sit well considering early booking of the room was over $1000 for 3 nights and the second room was only $680 approx.

Don’t stay here if you have a car, there is no where to park it

Check in was terrible. My husband sat in the car while I checked us in. Then I had to go out and bring the bags in and take them to our room all on my own. Then I had to go back and carry my sleeping child in while my husband drove around searching for a park. There was no information given about where breakfast was served. There wasn’t much of anything. Then the room was pretty small and had a shower curtain which is pretty old and gross. Luckily as the stay went on, the service improved but it didn’t start well!

At Novotel, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. We are sorry that your stay did not start well and that you were inconvenienced in this way. We offer parking for all guests most of the time with two types of offer - a valet parking service where we park the car for you and deliver it back to the front of the hotel when you want it. We also offer a discounted parking voucher at the Wilson's car park one block from the hotel - both are offered for $25 per night and include multiple entrance /exit ( parking at Wilsons for 24 hours would normally cost around $90). In regards to having someone available to take your bags I have reminded the team that even when a porter is away delivering other peoples bags or parking a car that we should be offering to assist even if this means that you go up to your room and we deliver the bags afterwards - we are sorry that this normal service was not offered to you and clearly it caused some frustration. in regards to information in the room there is a full information compendium on the TVs with information about the hotel ad the region for guests to access. The Wifi information does come up as a pop up when using a mobile device and again more detail is available within the compendium. Menus etc are in the room by way of QR codes - we have tried to reduce the touch points in the room of items such as this due to Covid. We try to make sure that this information is available so we are sorry that this was not clear to you. We acknowledge your comments about price and value - you were staying on nights that are some of the busiest of any time - even in these unusual covid times. The rates do fluctuate and our aim is to offer value compared to other hotels in the region at the same time and with similar products. We are sorry that we did not demonstrate this value to you. Good to hear that the team did look after you after this initial bad impression - thanks for staying. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Thanks Jim Moore General Manager
