Disappointed for $1000 a night, there was a terrible smell, old tatty furniture, stained curtains, carpet pulled and tatty, dirty unit, common areas need refresh and paint/clean, artwork framing chipped. No smart TV, seems crazy in todays world, will not be rushing back.

Location is the only thing going for this room. (1014) Furnishings old and in terrible condition. Room was smelly, think the insinkerator had failed and there was previous food in it? Terrible bedding, couch was old and carpet needs replacing. No privacy on balcony either. Hopefully the owners can be persuaded to bring this property up to Accors standard.

Dear Sandy B., Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. We appreciate your comments about our prime location; however, we regret to hear that your room did not meet your expectations. We take cleanliness and comfort seriously, and I assure you that your concerns regarding the furnishings and overall condition will be noted for future improvements. We sleep well in a comfortable bed but unfortunately too many small inconveniences added up to a rather disappointing experienc overall . The car parking at the front of the hotel was very tight but I found a spot, however when we got to reception they told me that spot didn’t belong to the hotel and we had to drive to the back of the hotel to a different car park, not what you want to do after a long journey. From the rear car park it was not straight forward to get to our room with the luggage, we had to go up, cross a courtyard and then go down again. The room was ok but was an awkward corner shape which made it feel small. The view was fabulous, albeit from a small window. The bathroom was unsatisfactory, much too small to use comfortably, especially as there was no mirror in the bedroom meaning I had to dry my hair in the bathroom, over the sink which is dangerous and it meant my husband was trapped in the shower as there wasn’t room for both of us in the bathroom at the same time. On arrival in the room there was no coffee maker, the reception staff did bring one quickly but when I made coffee one of the small milks was off and I had to throw the coffee away. Some of the bedding had a safety pin and staples left in from dry cleaning, nice to know that it was clean but not what you want to sleep with! We were given a bottle of wine when I mentioned this to the reception. This was gratefully received and showed that the hotel was trying but as mentioned earlier there were just too many things to make this anything like the luxury experience we were hoping for and was advertised. We are doing a six week tour of New Zealand and Australia, we have had good experiences with other All Accor hotels, however Peppers Beacon Queenstown is by far the most expensive hotel we have stayed in and just did not live up to expectations.

Dear Judith S., Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding your recent stay at Peppers Beacon Queenstown. I am sincerely sorry to learn that your experience did not meet your expectations, particularly given the high standards we strive to uphold. I understand that the parking situation was inconvenient, and I appreciate your patience in navigating our facilities. Our parking policy can sometimes lead to confusion, especially after a long journey, and I will be sure to convey your concerns to our team for future consideration. I regret that the layout of your room and the bathroom did not provide the comfort you anticipated. We aim to ensure all our rooms offer a pleasant experience, and I apologize for the inconveniences encountered. Additionally, I appreciate your comments regarding the cleanliness issues, as we take such matters very seriously and will address them with our housekeeping team. Your feedback is invaluable as we continually strive to enhance the guest experience. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I wish you safe travels on the remainder of your tour. Best regards, Peppers Beacon Queenstown

Unfortunately the spectacular view and convenient location is the only thing going for Peppers Beacon as of December 2025. We arrived late after arriving from Australia. We checked into our 2 bedroom apartment and were immediately met with soaked carpet near the second bedroom’s bathroom. It was later discovered the drain was very slow to drain, and the shower itself was leaking. The doors to the main bedroom were out of alignment, and were difficult to close. There was no door on the ensuite even though there was a large sign saying “keep the door closed otherwise steam from shower will set off fire alarm”. Both vanities were completely water damaged (wooden vanities), as well as the skirting boards. The vents were covered in dust, the curtains were all shredded along the hems, and along the sides, and the kitchen blind was stained and very dirty. There was a random pair of underwear under the bed in the main bedroom, not to mention the layers of dust and fluff. Some lights weren’t working, and some clearly had been water-damaged. There were two bottles of lotion in the second bathroom instead of one lotion and one wash - not a big deal, but just added to the frustrations. Simple things that were missed by the house-cleaning team. There was an interconnecting door for the apartment next door, and we later realised it was unlocked; our curious 12 year old son opened it, not realising it was a door to the next apartment. We had to ask the night manager to come and lock it with a key. The neighbours were then disturbed as the night manager was having difficulty trying to lock the door (there were many keys on the key ring). A conversation was had with them in the hallway. The night manager assured us all that the duty manager would be made aware of the issue in the morning during the shift handover. This all occurred around 11pm. Our son was feeling unsafe, thinking that anyone could access our room. We were grateful that our valuables were not accessed as we had been out exploring for a few hours earlier that night, not realising the interconnecting door was unlocked. There was no room safe. The staff were pleasant, and dealt with our concerns promptly, but for such a large organisation, we were very disappointed with our stay.

Dear Jonathon E., Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding your recent stay at Peppers Beacon Queenstown. I am pleased to hear that you appreciated our location and the beautiful views; however, I regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. I understand your concerns regarding the condition of your apartment, including the issues with maintenance and cleanliness. Ensuring our guests' comfort and satisfaction is paramount, and I appreciate your comments regarding the slow drain, water damage, and the cleanliness of the unit. I will ensure that your feedback is shared with our housekeeping and maintenance teams for their review and consideration. Regarding your concern about the interconnecting door, I apologize for the inconvenience it caused. We take guest safety seriously and will address this matter to prevent future occurrences. I appreciate your understanding of the situation and the professionalism of our staff during your stay. Thank you again for your valuable insights. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future for a more enjoyable experience. Best regards, Peppers Beacon Queenstown
