Great view and location!

Check-in was smooth and fast. Front desk staff was a joy! Walked into the room and wow, great view of the coastline! Town, restaurants, gondola/(luge - MUST DO!) and botanical gardens all a short walk away! Only downside was the handicap bathroom, but got over that quickly when looking at the view again 😁 Thank you for a great stay!

Room 202 was awful. The carpet smells, the room and hotel is overdue a serious renovation. Even the hallways carpet smells. The paint is old the furniture is worn. Paint peeking off door frames etc. some carpet worn through. It was disgusting. I'd never stay again and tell everyone to avoid. We told the manager on duty who said she already knew. Awesome take our money and just keep people unhappy. The worst ever a total rip off.

Unfortunately our stay was underwhelming. For the price we paid the room and the services(breakfast ) did not live up to standard. The room was tired with a cracked wash basin, mould on the tile grout and furniture was chipped. Whilst we appreciated the view and the we had booked a hotel room it just didn’t match the hype of the hotel description. Breakfast was disappointing as food on the buffet hadn’t been replaced when empty and we had to ask for milk bread and butter! No fruit left and dirty plates on servery. More training needed. When told we had to pay for a poached egg (platinum member)the comment was” if we did them everyone would want one! “ that sort of summed up the lack of service with no welcome or offering of table. Again more training needed needed. The worst Accor stay we’ve had unfortunately.

Terrible, filthy and just not worth the price

JoyB418 Couples - TripAdvisor review

So many issues - apart from place - especially public areas being filthy - We were put in what could only describe as a broom cupboard opposite the lift on 4th floor - Lift beeps like a Door bell every two minutes - there was a very tiny balcony for one person to stand only? Overshadowed by two huge suite balconies - the next door suite Air con unit took up half balcony We soon realised that it was an Interconnected room to the large suite with a big noisy family in residence. We plugged in our adapter and the socket blew up burning the wall and melting our charger and cutting all power to the room. Grubby old furniture and skirting boards in the room. Worst place we have stayed in the whole of New Zealand 3 week trip. Internet was next to useless - so slow - we needed to use internet to book next few days accommodation on our journey Then Breakfast! Interior room that looked like an old conference room with maybe 15 tables? Nothing was refilled, no teaspoons , muffins cut in half ? Had to ask for bacon etc, when anything ran out just not replaced - or done so very slowly - very small dining room , only 1/3 full? So no excuse for not keeping items replenished. Car park free in day? But $24 a night?! Hallways and public areas soooo filthy it was shocking - even the cockroach that sat dead in the hall for two days couldn’t face it. Only plus - good location. And gardens well maintained. Staff just didn’t seem to care
