Building inside is in need of remedial work our room had a great view but needs upgrading Daily in room service was very average Also had a water leak in hallway 20 mm deep from above Towels were put on floor and left for 2 days place smelt damp and musty because of this

I stayed at Peppers Beacon in Queenstown after staying at Peppers In Martinborough... what a let down, they aren’t even in the same league and I don’t know how this hotel is rated 4.5 stars. Other hotels in the Accor chain that have less starts than this one and are far superior. During my 8 night stay, the floors weren’t vacuumed, the bed sheets weren’t changed, the bath robes weren’t changed (even though I had left them on the bathroom floor to be changed), woken up numerous times due to the elevator and lack of sound proofing In the rooms, woken at 4:30am to other patrons yelling at each other with expletives for “waiting in line for an hour and losing a handbag” the beds are uncomfortable and springy, only 1 heater with no air conditioning and there is no breakfast. On a positive note, the reception staff, namely the gentleman who wears the turban, has exceptional customer service and is really friendly. He was informative and his skills And attitude are what I have experienced from 5 star hotels.

No restaurant and no bar facilities was not advertised when booking. Covid 19 is not a valid reason for not having these facilities as other hotels have them available. The walls were paper thin and we could hear every word of the people in the room next door.

Our stay was disappointing, the room was very cold even with the heater on, the carpet was in poor condition, definitely not up to 5 star standard. We stayed at numerous other 5 star properties on our 2 week holiday and this was by far the worst and the most expensive! I would say though the manager did his best to improve the situation and provide more heaters, also offered to move us for the 2nd night however we declined. Probably would not stay there again.

Purchased 2 rooms, same cost yet one was half the size of the other, entrance is not working and got locked out as a result. Shocking set-up.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. The proximity of the room next to the unit next to us, has paper thin walls. We could hear the full conversation of the people next door, when they were speaking normally. Very time a drawer was closed or a door closed it sounded like it was in our room. We asked to be moved, which was accommodated, with the comment " the room you're going to is an upgrade.( wasn't looking for one). The room we got was tiny in comparison. People moved in next door with a baby and once again, the noise levels were ridiculous. This went on the whole night. I notified reception of my parking bay number on arrival(as requested). Every day, i received a notice saying "parking infringement". On day 2 of 3 of our stay, room staff arrived at 9:45am. I requested they return after 1:30am if possible. They did not return and the room was not made up. We checked out the next morning. The person on reception, didn't ask about our stay or any of the usual pleasantries. We left, totally disappointed.
