Overall great experience, clean rooms friendly staff. Good location if you prefer out of the way 20min walk to city centre don’t recommend walking back as hill is very steep. Also the beds are not comfortable at all. We enjoyed our stay as a whole.

Upon check-in, when we asked for the wifi password, we were told by a gentlemen at the front desk who was on duty to call up if we need to use the wifi. He could have just provide the wifi password right there. This particular staff appears mismatch for a frontdesk service provider. His mannerism appears cold and snobbish. Room services appeared depriving guests of deserving supplies. On day of check-in, tissues in the box was found to be with only a miserable few pieces even after housekeeping was carried out from the last checked-in guest. No bedroom slippers were provided, we have to ask for it. Body lotion dispenser was close to empty and by the next morning, there were hardly any lotion in it. When requested for body lotion to be topped up the second day in the morning with the housekeeping personnel, we find the dispenser it missing later when we returned back to the room in the late afternoon. The dispenser was not replaced back even on the third day of stay. We had to go to frontdesk to inform them that it was missing from the room, only then they put back the dispenser in the evening that 3rd day of stay. Clean towels were placed at a position where the "air box" is and where thick dust inside it could be seen. What a place to put the clean towels for guests to use. This pose a concerning hygiene issue. We have stayed in various Accor group hotels numerous times in various countries through the years, this particular Mercure in Queenstown is one of the worst we have stayed with the Accor group in terms of its services rendered.

Door locks not working, bath not working, tired, staff disengaged and rooms not cleaned to a high level. I think this was about by 7th trip to an ALL hotel for the year and by far by most disapointing. Bar staff were nice, but everyone else was not that happy. services were tired. and room lots of things below par. Working with staff via email to make the booking etc were great however.

Our car park was parked in by another guest all weekend and only after informing reception that we didnt have a car park like normal. Cleaning was poor one of the days including the toilet being missed.

The first room I was given had a balcony that blocked almost half of the lake view, which was completely different from the photos shown on the website when I made the booking. I asked to change to another room, Room 201. The front desk told me this was the only room available and that if I was not satisfied, I had no other choice. Unfortunately, this room was also dirty and had significant noise issues. There was loud elevator noise next to it, people talking extremely loudly in front of the room, and loud noises coming from somewhere in the building almost every hour throughout the night. As a result, it was extremely difficult to sleep, and the overall sleep quality was horrible. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this place to anyone.
