Location service etc very good. The lift that makes a terrible noise all night long not so good! After complaining to the staff in the morning they advised they would turn the lift off in the evening. If they knew the lift noise was an issue especially for people in room 401 why not do this before hand? fist night terrible sleeping, 2nd night better but opposite lift could still be heard. I would think an upgrade of the lift and sound proofing in the associated rooms would be beneficial to provide customers a pleasant nights sleep.

In a place where the view is everything, our 'garden view room' was just like looking at the overgrown road side with a path to the pool straight past our window. The room it self was OK expect the bathroom was like a hospital room. Toilet too close to the wall, had to sit on it sideways. Towel racks hanging over the top of the toilet. Too far out of town without some form of shuttle service. Too expensive for what it is.

Gorgeous view, outdated and expensive - not a four star and not a resort

Stayed two nights with hubby and 2 kids. View was amazing. We liked the outdoor hot tub and the lounge area. We didn’t like: the breakfast selection - limited variety and heterogeneous quality, we were all crammed like sardines in a small breakfast room, the beds and linen were old, the bathroom was outdated and felt like a hospital bathroom - quit off-putting with the shower curtain and worn out tiles on the ground, so small you had to turn to the side to be able to close the door, shampoo / soap products were cheap, the carpet in room was worn out and stained, fridge was empty?, the overall decor impersonal, cold and outdated, the lifts are scary to go into: old and noisy, we were placed in the room farthest from reception and meant a rather long walk with our bags to get there, limited parking space - we had to park on the street one evening, not walking distance from town, limited free wifi at reception: 200mb really? And only available to 3 devices in room... well there were 4 of us in the room. Overall disappointing, especially because it costs us more than $460 the first night... afraid I won’t recommend.

- Mediocre welcome - Old rooms - No free WiFi (unacceptable for a 4-Star Hotel today) - The most horrific breakfast I have had in New Zealand so far (and I have stayed at 15+ Hotels and Motels) - And that for a ridiculous price of $21 for the continental breakfast

Stayed on the 4th floor and found the view of Lake Wakatipu spectacular. The service was second to none and would highly recommend if staying in Queenstown, the the Mecure should be your 1st choice.

It started with check in when the guy who checked us. In could barely put two words together and chucked us the keys and told us where the lift was. No would you like wifi have you been here before nothing at all. So 205 is a spectacular room but that fire door keeps slamming. Surely u could fix the constant slamming of the door when it’s being used particularly at all hours of the night and early morning. The breakfast was ordinary with most of the time things were not topped up and the fruit selection very poor. My girls just eat fruit for breakfast but that slop they called fruit salad well we bought brunch in town everyday . That should have been a key indicator to the food. So it says &45 for 2 course they don’t tell u that we also going to whack on$20 hat and then when u pay your hotel bill they again whack in more gst! Wtf it was the dearest meal we had in Queenstown and the worse by a long shot! Devil burger had better food. The waiters at dinner were rather nice and helpful. We didn’t even have a beer or wine and it ended up costing me $163 - ripped off The spa was dirty and grotty yes it was the end of the day but these should be maintained regularly throughout the day. The experience in the spas was yuck way too much chlorine - we have a spa and the person who is maintaining that spa needs a little more practice at maintenance. The staff in general were no friendly you could walk right past any of them without saying helllo. except for the young males who may have were from a foreign country. We spent over $1000 a day on a to wise in Queenstown and we ate all the grate restaurants in town. We would never stay at the Mercure again. Very disappointing experience but we still made the most of our holiday and had a great time!1 hopefully you will fix these simple problems for other guests.

A great location with stunning views. Hotel is a bit dated but room very clean and comfortable. Shame the spa pool wasn’t working fully but still nice to soak in. Maybe the pool needed some sort of heating as it was far to cold. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant menu a bit limited but food was great Overall an enjoyable stay.
