The soundproofing is non-existent. I am writing this review at 11pm and hearing people talking in the room next to us. We were unable to get sleep before like 1am last night because there is a family with 2 kids staying next to us making noise all the time. It's not the best hotel experience when the last thing you remember and first thing you wake up to is screaming kids, banging on the walls, moving furniture and whatnot. We came all the way from Finland and paid a lot of money to stay in a 4 star hotel in Queenstown and you'd expect at the minimum to be able to sleep at 10pm. We ordered dinner into our room on the first night and it took over an hour to get it. Nothing wrong with that, we get it that sometimes the restaurant might be a bit busier. But when we finally did get the dinner in our room, it was cold. Waguy beef hamburger and a chicken hamburger cold. Ice cream which was part of the dessert was melted already when it arrived. Fries were soggy and worse than McDonald's takeaway fries when you get home. We did dine in the restaurant on the 2nd night and that was actually good. Gotta give points for that. Also the staff has been nice and friendly. We had to do some laundry because we've been traveling for 12 days already and we were happy to notice there's a guest laundry. Although it only took coins in cash as payment which was a bit odd and old-fashioned. Parking at the hotel is 15 dollars per day which I guess is alright since we're in Queenstown. We have booked 3 nights but we had to book the last night from another hotel because we actually wanted to sleep. If you want to sleep, don't book this hotel.

Great location and view. Exceptional breakfasts. Staff were helpful and Brandon the Assistant Manager was helpful and flexible when we had to cancel a nights booking because of an accident. Some of the room cleaning was less good. plus it would be good to add a desk to the room.

The hotel is ok, but we had quite few problems , especially in the check-out. When paying the bill, they alleged problems with my credit card. So I had to tap and swipe several times. In the end, it was charged twice. I payed the double I was supposed to pay. I contact them, but so far very poor response and no refund.

We were on a tour of the south island and stayed at this hotel as part of the (hotel included) deal. The room was ok and the facilities were very dated with mould in the bathroom and stepping up into the shower over the edge of the bath is dangerous. For a mercure….dissapointed.

Outdated room and notreflecting even half of the photo

The superior lake view room that I was given is on the ground floor with high bushes blocking 2/3 of the lake view, not superior at all. There is no lamp at all, the only light of the whole room is along the window which makes the room very dark at night as if I was living in a cave. Also there are just chairs instead of armchairs as per website photo, without any armrest at all so you don’t ever want to sit on them. Very poor experience with this hotel and will never come back
