The mercure is looking very tired - there are stains on the carpet and it's looking worn. The service was polite but terrible quality - the food was truly average. Staff need proper training, including in how to order food. No-one wants the first thing to go on their plate to be the sauce, before they even have the main food. And rice after curry in the line? Not before? Seriously? Plate not restocked, no cutlery and food running out before it's refilled were a common occurrence in the week I spent at the hotel.

Food: inconsistent standard of cooking ability - meat was in general over cooked and tough. Final dinner meat was very rare and not tender. In the restaurant serving staff were not attentive to the quantity in the buffet dishes, so often it was sauce and no content. Rises breakfast was chaos and food was unappetising, where it was available. Inability to keep on top of cutlery and cups. Honey stick was useless, so people used peanut butter teaspoon and cross contaminated. Coffee machine was always out of water or requiring some sort of attention. In general the coffee was undrinkable. Given requirements to boil water, rooms should have had water bottles provided. The carpet in my room is very stained. The room needs a deep clean. There is no added comfort. With an inconsistent aircon, a blanket (such as in your advertising online) should be provided. Most unfriendly towards disabled hotel I have stayed in for a very long time. Staff were in general pleasant.
