my fiance and I stayed 3 nights here. The staff were warm and friendly. The pool and spa was the highlight of the hotel. The room was spacious, clean and tidy.

Most enjoyable stay. Rooms was spacious and the view was stunning. We have stayed in the Fernhill area before and like the quiet location. Car-parking, always at a premium in Queenstown, was a bonus.

We booked for 4 nights at Mercure Queenstown Resort impressed with the service, friendly staff. I got an upgrade to a lake view room with beautiful views for my birthday plus wrote me sweet birthday card and chocolates. It was so special way to start my birthday holiday. Unfortunately we couldn't use spa and pools because of level 2 lockdown but spend most of our day outside doing activities. Accidently we left our room window open in the evening and when we came back our room was covered with light flies, we advised the reception they sent someone to spray the room and we had to stay outside the room for few minutes we asked another room nut it was late at night so we couldn't get one and my kids were scared to go in as there was still more left, next day they cleaned our room thoroughly which was good. I would recommend if you put a note in the room or advise the customers upon check in to close the windows so they don't to go through this , because its closer to the lake it and happens all the time. Other than that we had a great time in Queenstown definitely coming back. Thank you so much for accommodating us.

The Mercure Resort Hotel is up a steep hill towards Fernhill off the Glenorchy Road. There is a bus service but it is 10 minutes walk to the bus stop. The hotel was very quiet. I was 'upgraded' to a lake view room, but the state of the room was very disappointing. Few plug sockets, no bath plug and poor lighting. There were long black hairs on the bathroom floor. The state of the room carpet was quite appalling - generally very dirty with some very noticeable stains. The room desperately needed refurbishing. The Duty Manager showed little concern, merely stating that an upgrading of some rooms was in progress. But no offer to transfer me to a refurbished room despite me being an Accor member. The breakfast was the only redeeming feature. But I will certainly not be staying here again. I have stayed at many Accor group hotels across the world and this was my worst experience.

I was upgraded to a superior king room on arrival. I loved the lake view from the room as well as the facilities within the resort. The only downfall on my stay was the response the governments announcement of Covid 19 Alert Level change. There were 0 cases in the South Island, and the alert level change was not amended to 11:59PM on Sunday, 14th February. At about 9:00PM, I went outside for a spa, and was intercepted by management that they would be closing the public facilities in response the the governments announcement, so was only allowed a 15 minute spa that night before the facilites were closed about 9:30PM on Sunday night.

We value our guests safety very highly here at the Mercure Queenstown, and we have to be even more vigilant in regards to health and safety in the current climate. Lock-downs being imposed are not simply a legal requirement, but guidelines for us to follow that save lives. Yes, the lock-down started at 11:59 on the Sunday night, however if our Manager on Duty made a decision to to update our operations in line with the governments decision ahead of time to ensure the health and safety of our guests then I promise that it was only done so with yours, our staff and guests safety in mind. It was a good stay there. Just a suggestion to get the Jacuzzi cleaned, the was very dirty and had mosquitoes in them which is very unhealthy if your child with you. Please wash the Jacuzzi and clean it with soap and if it is possible for you to please wash your room carpets at least once in six months would be very thankful and vacuum the floor every day would be very helpful. I don't like to complain so I left it.

Had the best rest in a long time on super comfortable queen beds. The room was spacious with a nice view. We did not have the chance to enjoy the pool and spa. The staff was kind and helpful.

We thought all of the staff were lovely and very friendly to deal with however it appeared that there was not enough restaurant and bar staff to support the guests. We were there for 6 days and saw how busy the place got and felt very sorry for the staff that were working as they were flat out running back and forth not to mention increased wait times for us to get their attention, the food was also yummy but the desserts wasn't that great sadly. We loved the view from our room and loved the service that the staff provided. All of the shift managers were very helpful with recommendations and booking activities for us so that was great. We would definitely come back.

We had a superior lake view room. Best view, really enjoyed that. Hotel was a bit too far from town to walk so took the bus down the hill. Meals were good.

Views that were hard to beat. Excellent check in but bar & restaurant fell short. Bar person lacked experience. Had to wait an hour for dinner and wasn’t really worth $40 price tag and was cold when we got it. Waitress was lovely though.

Our stay at the Mercure was some what positive, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful which was great, they always went above and beyond when asked. we received an upgraded which was lovely. The refreshments available pool side were fantastic and a big selling point. However there were some negatives regarding our stay, we were put on the second floor however next to us were family’s with small children, we don’t mind a child friendly hotel however when the doors and walls aren’t sound proof it wasn’t great, they were extremely loud in the mornings running up and down the corridors around 7am, and there parents chatting rather loudly outside our bedroom perhaps in future you could put them on one floor with other family’s instead of next to couples who were there on a holiday. The buffet breakfast was average, the eggs were over cooked, the tomato’s, mushrooms and bacon were so dry it was hard to eat. The juice wasn’t even fresh but simply the cheap bottle which just tastes artificial, the coffee machine Doesn't heat or make the milk properly and just made all the coffees watery. We stayed at the Rydges before staying here and your breakfasts just couldn’t compare, they offered fresh pulp juice, omelettes made fresh, waffles, chia puddings, fresh fruit therefore when we came to the Mecure and realised it was nothing compared to this we were extremely disappointed. The hotel is located up a rather large hill, which is fine however it would be great if the hotel could put on a shuttle to just run every hour for guests this would be such a great feature as other guests we spoke to felt the same regarding the large walk to town.
