Greeted with a warm, friendly smile, it set the tone for our 4 night stay. All staff were pleasant and lovely to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant and bar meals were all delicious. Our room was clean and tidy, and what a view we had overlooking Lake Whakatipu!

Overall we had a fair stay at this hotel. It wasn't as new/modern as depicted in pictures, but it had a great view to the lake and jacuzzis next to the pool. The reason why it was not an excellent experience is due to the older feeling of the hotel and that the buffet breakfast included could improve in taste since most NZ hotels offer about the same menu, but the restaurant faces the lake and it has several amenities. Price is not bad for the area, but we were expecting more quality items in our stay (better rooms, more modern, better breakfast).

It was honestly disappointing. The hotel is described as a four star property, but it did not meet that standard. Very few amenities were provided, aside from a single shower cap, which was not even replenished. I have stayed at several two to three star hotels that offered far more amenities. I noticed slippers on the housekeeping cart and assumed these were only provided to certain guests rather than all guests, which was unclear. Additionally, the fifteen dollar parking fee for guests felt excessive given that the location was relatively far from most attractions. While the room itself was in good condition and well presented, I would still strongly recommend reducing the star rating to avoid misleading future guests.
