There is not much point in having a Priority Welcome queue if your staff completely ignore people standing waiting there and serve others instead. I've stayed at this hotel many times and also can't recall ever receiving a room upgrade (certainly not in recent memory) despite this being something I am supposed to receive at my status level. I accept it is subject to availability but don't accept there has never been one available when I have been sent an offer to PAY to upgrade the day or so prior. Breakfast is disappointing.

Just two matters: No drinking chocolate. I paid at Easter almost $500/night - so a small thing like drinking chocolate could have been included with the tea and coffee options. In room 134 there were 'rust' stains on the floor of the white bathtub that doubled as a shower.

We stayed 2 nights in your hotel which we really enjoyed in room 229. We were travelling as a group of 3 couples. However, upon our return we were put in room 170. This room was very tired and significantly smaller. and right by the car park entrance. We were woken by a group of motorbikes warming up and leaving the hotel. My wife mentioned our disappointment at reception and got the “we will pass it on”, even though we didn’t ask what you were disappointed with brush off. Disappointing experience for the price we paid.

Do not feel the stay was worth the very high price ($500 per night, per room) for rooms with no view. I can't imagine what we would have had to pay for lake view rooms which would still have been tired looking. I think the hotel is really relying on their location while the rooms are in desperate need of updating...everything in the hallways + rooms felt very tired. The beds move around like they are on skates which was annoying and also dangerous with a crawling baby in the room. I can't remember the last time I stayed in a hotel with a shower curtain instead of glass doors. After staying at other Novotel properties I was very surprised at the state of this one. Time to update the hotel!

The delamination of paint on the shower head/handkerchief almost cut my hand while using it. It is extremely sharp and the hand can be soft when warmed and wet.
