Great location, bathrooms require some serious work

Hotel staff is very pleasant and welcoming, both reception, pool and dining areas! The room was very basic, but overall appeared clean. The AC was working, but the thermostat was not allowing to change temperature resulting in a super cold room at all times. It would be nice to have a real comforter vs. just a throw blanket. Now, the bathroom is one of the worst bathrooms I have seen in a while. Very dated, moldy, with cracks and significant signs of wear. The toilet is so close to the wall that is makes it nearly impossible sit on it without bumping your knees against the wall, and I am not the tallest and biggest person out there.. the water in the shower was boiling hot and maintenance had to come it to fix the issue. the positive - maintenance person came in very fast! The bathroom door is also very worn. Oh, and the towels - this is the most disgusting thing I have seen - once I believe those were supposed to be white color. No, all grayish color with STAINS! The only positive in the bathroom - great hair dryer!

Well located and Wonderful Stay at Mercure Salvador

I have been staying in Mercure Salvador since 18 years ago. The location is perfect as there are restaurants within walking distance. The sea view from the hotel room is fanstastic. The hotel staff are very professional, helpful and friendly particularily to the tall woman who was preparing at the egg station during breakfast. She is still there serving with her smile since 18 years ago when i first stayed in this hotel. Thank you Mercure Salvador and it is always my first choice hotel in Salvador.

Nice hotel. At night not safe to leave the street of the hotel unless in Uber. The hotel itself should have a better bar area for guests to relax at! The breakfast team were amazing!
