The business and family hotel is located directly at Hanover main train station, between the Ernst-August-Galerie, the HDI Arena, Maschsee, the Herrenhausen Gardens and the exhibition grounds. Based on the online information, photographs and descriptions, I reasonably expected high-quality accommodation that reflected the super-premium rate charged. Unfortunately, the property is significantly misrepresented, and I felt misled as a customer. • The hotel is in a drug-tolerance, super dirty area that felt unsafe. This fact is omitted on the webpage, I think on purpose. • The walk to the hotel from the station passes through urinals, addicts and constant police activity. • There is a very busy and loud bus station right in front of the lobby that operates through the night. • The property is significantly outdated, with aging facilities and furnishings not at par with the Novotel brand. The toilet is separate from the rest of the bathroom in a space similar to that of an airplane. As a traveler, I rely on Novotel to provide accurate and transparent information when making purchasing decisions. Had the property’s true condition and surrounding area been accurately represented, I would not have selected this hotel, particularly at the rate charged.

Friendly reception staff. Comfortable beds. Odd and inconvienent placement of toilet in separate room from shower and bath. No shower gel in the shower itself; dispenser was locked into a fitting by the bath, which required leaving the shower and crossing the room to access. No electrical outlets by the beds. Light controls a total mess and hard to figure out. Only one master switch by the door; there should be another by at least one of the beds.

Although very conveniently located very close to the main train station, that is not the best location in town, due the not too good looking type of people hanging around, especially at night. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable amd reasonably clean. The furniture has past their prime time and while cleverly designed it shows its age and it it is quite worn out. The room would smell funny, like very old cigarette smoke, if leaving the ventilation on for too long. Luckily one can open the window for healthier ventilation. I did not try the breakfast.
