The hotel is ideally situated in the city centre. Parking is plentiful in the area at a small cost. Reception staff very welcoming. Rooms were clean and tidy. Bed comfortable.

Pleasant, however road noise would have kept me awake if I hadn't brought headphones. Also the room was stuffy, needs a fan at minimum.

Room not impressed, twin beds together like a double, the mattress on my bed sagged so much you could clearly see this as you walked in the room. The room was so bloody hot too. Window opened slightly, but then you got not only the traffic noise but all the sirens all night long! The walls were a dingy grey. Such a dismal look. Asked for a different room and was refused the first night! Hotel lobby/bar/restaurant looked like school cafe with plastic chairs. Not inviting at all. We eventually got an accessible room which was slightly bigger. But the bathroom flooded when you had a shower, which as a disabled room is not good! To go to the loo after someone had a shower was like wading through a stream. Both bathrooms were like this, I might add. When the rooms were cleaned, we were not given clean cups or glasses. The cleaning lady went into the bathroom and rinsed them through. The fact that we had actually washed them up ourselves before this is the saving grace. I’m not sure how much the room was cleaned tbh, as I couldn’t see anything having been moved. The fan in the 2nd room did work eventually but I think they have put a timer on it as it wasn’t constant. We went across to Holiday Inn and for £10 extra we could’ve had an amazing room, with space to move, bath & shower. Smelt amazing, the hotel lobby was a lobby not a combination of god alone knows what! The staff were lovely, we were taken to view a typical room. Two comfy chairs a table with a proper chair decent cups and spoons not stupid sticks to stir your coffee. Also in IBIS one bin for two people!! The IBIS is advertised as a budget hotel, I get that. But when you compare the two it’s like chalk and cheese. I will not recommend the IBIs at all. Also found out in the Monday (we arrived in the Saturday) that as I have a blue badge we could park behind the property as opposed to the multi story which we struggled to get our bags from. I use a walking stick and am disabled. All this was ignored after we told them. Yes I didn’t book a disabled room originally as they can be expensive but seemingly they are all the same price!! And all awful dull dismal small rooms !!

While the hotel does not have parking it is close to a cheap car park and is ideally located for both the Connexin centre and Hull city hall. Welcome was good. The room is as expected for this level hotel ( not fancy decor) but has room to hang up clothes and put cases. The menu is limited ( again, to be expected) but I would recommend the chicken skewers and the portions were large. We do find the step into the toilet disturbing. Breakfast was reasonable. The scrambled eggs let it down.

The hotel has a good location. However the staff and conditions were truly excellent from check-in to bar/restaurant personnel nothing was too much to ask for. Security made the stay safe.

Nice comfy bed, great shower and bar/food facilities. I rate it better than Travelodge. Very close by council run multi-storey car park on Osborne Street for just £3 for 24 hours.

+1. Ideally located for customers travelling by public transport. +2. The city's facilities (shops, bank, the main Post Office, pubs and at least one of the shopping centres) are also a short, level walk away. +3. Hotel has all the usual amenities. I have only used the restaurant once - for a hearty breakfast (slightly cheaper if you book it in advance). +4. Guests can leave luggage in a locked room for collection later the same day. -1. At 1957 on the night I stayed (30 August 2026), the air conditioning unit in my room emitted a loud grating noise and didn't work again for the rest of my stay. Luckily I could open a window ajar, and the weather was neither too hot to need a/c nor too cold to need heating.
