A decent hotel in a good location

stuartberry1 TripAdvisor review

A decent hotel in a good location, a short walk from the attractions of the city, the central railway station, and the excellent Museum of the Second World War. A Zabka convenience store is directly across the road. The room was well appointed with a view of the old town and a bathroom which seemed to have been recently refurbished. Breakfast was good quality with plenty of choice, gluten-free bread available, and tables regularly cleared. Check-in was friendly and efficient. The only negative was our experience in the bar, when although I appreciate it was busy, I felt I was ignored while people who arrived after me were served. When I was finally served, I was made to feel as if I was an inconvenience. This did not reflect well upon the hotel. Overall though, I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Thank you for the beautiful view from the window, watching Gdansk from this perspective was stunning! The staff was lovely and polite. The idea of family room, combined of adjoined two rooms was very comfy.

Standard ok, but it was cold all the time everywhere in the building

I took a taxi from Gdansk airport at 11pm on a Friday night. It was 17kms to the hotel and took 20 minutes. I got a nice welcome from Wiktor who gave me a small bottle of wine from a fridge near reception in lieu of my Platinum Accor member free drink voucher as the bar was closed. I got an upgrade to a 20m2 Privilege room which felt a little cramped and was a bit old with no sockets near the bed. The soft drinks in the minibar were free and I was pleasantly surprised to find a large card with a picture of Gdansk and a welcome message from the hotel along with a bar of chocolate, a bar of amber soap and a small jar of coffee. I was happy to find a walk-in shower in the bathroom. I called reception to ask for a duvet cover and I'm always too hot under the duvet. A friendly girl called Natalia arrived promptly with it. Later on I couldn't see how to turn the bedside lamp off and the nightstand was fixed to the wall so I called her back. She ended up crawling under the nightstand to unplug it so she should get 5 stars just for that. There were no sockets by the bed to plug my laptop and phone in and I don't know how long the double bed was but my feet were hanging off the end for most of the night. I'm 1.76m tall. The bathrobe was also far too small for me, they should get some bigger ones. I had a look at the exercise room the next morning, it was small and basic with some cardio equipment and a rack of dumbbells. A hotel that size should provide a decent gym. I went on a 1 hour tour of the town in a golf buggy which picked me up and brought me back to the hotel. A one hour tour is enough to see everything and then you can walk back to the parts that interest you. Jakub at reception kindly gave me a late checkout at 1pm as the restaurant I was going to didn't open till 1pm and I recommend the Restauracje Ritz by the marina for lunch. They stay open all afternoon till the evening so you can have lunch as late as you want.

Nice staff but rooms are not as nice as in the photos
