Friendly staff, but unfortunately that was the only real positive from two recent stays at Novotel Poznań. Both rooms were in an unacceptable state: filthy, stained carpets, poor bedding and heavy dust throughout — including thick layers on the walls. This happened on both stays, so it clearly wasn’t an isolated housekeeping issue. More seriously, our 4-year-old daughter has severe, potentially life-threatening nut and sesame allergies, and the hotel seemed completely unprepared for this. At breakfast, we could not find a single bread, pastry or cereal option that was safe for her, while the waffle area had Nutella contamination across utensils and equipment. Worst of all, after explicitly telling restaurant staff that no nuts or seeds could be brought to our table, we were served amuse-bouches containing exactly those allergens. The staff themselves were kind and apologetic, but the overall lack of cleanliness and allergy awareness made the stay feel genuinely unsafe for our daughter. We’ve stayed at Novotels in Warsaw, London, Kraków, Katowice and elsewhere and previously had very good experiences. After this, however, I would be extremely reluctant to stay with the brand again.

It was OK for a Novotel. We had two rooms. Air conditioning in one defaulted to heat at 29 degrees and though reported wasn’t fixed. In our room it switched off at target temperature but then never switched back on. Room cleans were a half hearted effort at best. Basically ruffled the sheets and chucked the pillows back on. Water was sometimes missing. Welcome gift was a beer and a bottle of Kombucha. Not great. First hotel ever where there’s been no hair conditioner in the bathroom. Smoking right outside the main entrance made it uncomfortable entering and exiting. Last but not least spend some money on proper ironing facilities. Great gym though.

We spent a few days of our holiday in Poznań and chose a Novotel hotel. Hotel was belonging to the Accor chain, which is very familiar to us. We were truly impressed by the idyllic old town and liked it very much. It was just a short walk from our hotel. We were also very impressed by the magnificent and well-equipped hotel room, which was a lovely place to return to and rest after day trips and dinner. The view from the hotel room on the upper floors was also truly magnificent and enjoyable. The Hotel breakfasts were varied and tasty. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant.

The price of parking has gone up a lot, the room felt small and the sofa bed didn’t feel safe to sleep on. Badly stocked, no hand wash or shower gel left in the bottles on the wall. No black tea bags left. Also dog in room opposite barking loudly and often. Also breakfast very expensive for what it is and more expensive than it states on the app
