I was at the Novotel Poznan Malta for 4 nights in early June. The room was clean and comfortable. Chosen for proximity to the rowing venue, it was also super easy to get into the city center via the tram line that stops next to the hotel. The restaurant was good, and staff was very helpful. There are some good running options from the hotel with the lake and parks nearby. I also appreciated the water dispenser in the hallway, and that I could open the window in the room. I was very happy with my choice.

We had 3 rooms for 2 nights. The hotel was clean. Staff were very friendly apart from one of the staff who works in the restaurant who made us feel very unwelcome when we first arrived. Not the younger guy, who had only started working there 2 weeks prior, it was the older guy. He had a very bad attitude. We ordered the food and it was all very under cooked. The beef burgers were raw inside. We could not eat them. Such a disappointing start to our stay there foodwise. The younger guy, Alex, at the restaurant area who works evenings was excellent, he was pleasant and very professional. The pool area was lovely and peaceful and good that you have a lifeguard there all the time. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. There was a terrible smell in the bathroom. Very strange that the toilet was a separate room from the bathroom, which meant you could not wash your hands and so you have to handle two door handles with dirty hands before being able to wash them which means the handles are dirty and this is not good hygeine. Really odd that there are no taxis available for party of 5 and the taxi companies kept trying to get us to book 2 taxis which was double the cost. We finally got a taxi that could take 5 of us to the airport, the taxi company quoted the hotel receptionist 75 ZL, but the driver demanded 105zl when he dropped us off. We don't know if he was lying and taking advantage of us knowing we didn't speak Polish and we were leaving the country. It took around 5 minutes each time the staff called for taxi, not sure what they were saying, but it seems that the taxi companies are not familiar with hotels booking taxis for the guests and on some occasions the taxi company asked the hotel staff why they were booking the taxi and why were not booking ourselves, the staff had to explain that we don't speak Polish, this is very unusual practice. Regarding food availability. Breakfast finishes at 10m and then there is nothing available until 12. One of our party was ill, possibly due to the uncooked burgers and so we had to wait until 12 until we could get them something to eat, there was some fruit laid out, but we were told we could not have any because it was for a conference. A bread roll would have been enough. The telephone from room to room worked, but to call reception or room service, they never answered the phones and we had to keep downstairs to reception to ask things. There is no information about the hotel in the rooms, or a food menu to order room service, but room service never answer the phone anyway.

Additionally, we apologize for the inconvenience you faced with the taxi service and the lack of food availability between breakfast and lunch. We will work on improving our communication with local taxi companies and ensure that there are food options available throughout the day. We also regret that you had difficulty contacting our reception and room service. We will review our internal communication procedures to ensure that our guests' needs are promptly addressed.
