I stayed at this Ibis hotel twice, and both times my privacy was completely ignored. During my first stay, I booked a full week and paid extra for the late check-out option until 5:00 PM. Despite this, a staff member opened my room door without warning while I was in a private and intimate moment with my girlfriend. I reported the incident to reception and expected it would never happen again. Unfortunately, during my second stay, exactly the same thing happened. I had once again paid for late check-out until 5:00 PM, yet around noon housekeeping opened my room door without knocking properly or checking whether I was still entitled to remain in the room. I explained the situation to the housekeeper, who informed reception. A receptionist then came running to my room with a payment terminal, demanding an additional €15 without even verifying my booking details. I had to explain for a second time that I had already paid for late check-out. Only after I went to reception myself and showed proof of my reservation did she finally check the system and admit that I was right. On top of the privacy issues, the room itself was completely unsuitable for work. I am a software developer and needed a proper desk to work on, but I was given a room with no desk at all, making it extremely inconvenient to work during my stay. The most shocking part is that this happened twice. It shows a serious lack of communication between staff and a complete disregard for guests' privacy and basic needs. Opening occupied rooms without proper verification is unacceptable, especially when guests have paid for extended check-out. No respect for privacy, no respect for professionalism, and no respect for paying customers. I will never stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
