Lovely stay and room was nice however a few points where there could be improvement. We didn’t realise you had to drive through a barrier into like an amusement park first, the person on the barrier had charged us €6 and then when we said we were staying in the hotel they didn’t mention anything. When we checked in, we were the told that we didn’t have to pay this charge so that was quite disappointing someone took advantage of us. You don’t have an option for a child’s cot which is quite unhelpful when travelling with young children, luckily we had our own but I’m sure this would put some families off staying. The ramp up to the main entrance is quite steep and not having an automatic door makes it quite tricky to open when pushing up a pram and suitcases. I’m not sure how wheelchair users would manage this! The chairs in the room look tired and could do with being updated. Also there was some scaffolding in the hotel car par from the amusement park/rides, where the workers had dropped lots of screws on the ground so were scattered around. We were lucky we didn’t drive over any and I hope no other guests were unfortunate to get a puncture.

I booked a room with an ocean or bay view for 4 nights. Since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, we requested a room with a bay view. Unfortunately, we got an ocean view room, even though throughout our stay we asked the reception to accommodate us, at least for one night, a room with the gorgeous view of La Concha Bay. The reception staff did not care about our wishes, although during our stay, many rooms with a view of the bay became available and many customers came and went.

Our experience was extraordinary. The view over San Sebastien of course steals the show. However, the design features of the expansive common lounge and bar area really set this place apart. Rooms weren't quite as grand but were very comfortable. Staff were lovely.
