Not all rooms will have our expansive view of the Colosseum (we were on the top floor corner and it was stunning), but they will all have the very comfortable beds (not too hard or too soft), clean rooms with clever areas to store luggage, friendly and attentive staff, and in the summer, the gloriously refreshing (cold) rooftop pool to cool off in before a quick siesta. The hotel itself is lovely, but the location is what makes it irresistible. Not only is it a quick walk to the Colosseum, there’s rows of restaurants and stores a block over, a Carrefour express and helpful pharmacy within another block. For a less overtly touristy experience, the neighborhood of Monti is a three minute walk away. If you’re traveling with any pets, the hotel is next to a large open park. I booked through the All-Accor app during a promotion that included breakfast for free, which I highly recommend. There’s plenty of coffee and pastry shops nearby, but the hot buffet is reliable and quick, with vegan and vegetarian options.

I am submitting a formal complaint regarding my stay at Mercure Roma Centro Colosseo from September 6–10, 2026. I am requesting a written response and a corporate‑level review due to multiple service failures, contradictory policy application, and the disruption of a milestone event. At check‑in, I was denied the Coliseum‑view room I booked because I was traveling with my 8‑year‑old son. He is small, sleeps in the bed with us, and we were out of the room all day on tours each day. There was no practical or safety‑related reason we could not have been placed in the room category we paid for. This makes the later offer of Room 312 — labeled as a 3‑person room but containing only one bed — even more concerning. It highlights a clear inconsistency in how occupancy rules were applied to my family. On September 8, housekeeping never serviced our room despite multiple requests. On the night of September 9, the AC in Room 113 leaked heavily, waking us repeatedly and flooding the floor. I spent the night mopping water and moving our belongings. No maintenance staff were available. This occurred the night leading into my 50th birthday. I woke up NOT looking at the Colloseum, but looking at towels stacked on the floor from me mopping and managing the roof leak all night. Compensation for that night was only provided after I personally suggested it. Breakfast throughout the stay also had an unwelcoming atmosphere, adding to the overall discomfort. I request: – A formal written response – A review of the contradictory occupancy policy application – A review of the hotel’s service recovery practices – Confirmation that this complaint has been escalated to regional management Thank you for your attention to this matter. Amazing place to stay to explore Rome. Close to all transport , we preferred buses and light rail to underground rail and use uber to book taxis especially on hot days ! (In Florence do opposite and use taxis stands or get hotel to book) Rooms are small but with so much to see and do and the bonus of returning for a swim in the middle of hot days. Staff were great and quickly sorted the issue of our leaking air conditioner.

We enjoyed the room very much, from the VERY comfortable bed to the wonderful air conditioning. The location is a very convenient one. We were 2 blocks from a supermarket and from the sites. A glorious view of the Colosseum, as well. And of course the staff was amazing as always. This is our go-to hotel whenever we are in Rome.

was very surprised that we would have had to pay 18 Euros to just get a cup of coffee in the morning, I was told we had to purchase the whole breakfast even if we just wanted coffee. that was quite disappointing.

The hotel bottom sheet was only a half sheet, there was only one coffee satchel, coffee and no milk. The cups to make any coffee were only small paper cups - only usable for water.
