I've stayed in Accor hotels including Mercure and this property was less than advertised. I appreciated an upgraded room but there was almost zero closet space so you lived out of a suitcase, and no chair beyond a small desk chair. The room seemed quite dates. The Nespresso machine was difficult to use as you had to essentially try to move it sideways to lower the lever [and do know that I have 3 Nespresso machines so know how they work]. Being on the seventh floor was not the best and you began to wonder how long this broken elevator had been in place. The filtered water was great and cold, but the bottle provided need to be pristine as I would not put water into one - where had it been before? The best parts of this stay were the breakfast and the staff there, and the housekeeping staff who aimed to please. I did wonder how the entrance would pass accessibility requirements as it too required stairs. The location was good for the business meetings that I had and to catch the Elizabeth line via Black Friars to Farringdon. However, the cost overall was expensive compared to my pre-departure stay at Heathrow at a Sofitel.

The hotel appears nice and the staff is pleasant but ultimately the stay was just okay. The bed in my room was on wheels and every time I got in or out it was sliding around. I repeatedly had to push it back up against the headboard because it would roll out and create a gap. There was a very small window, but it was located at the top of the wall and only went down about 6-8" so you couldn't see anything out of it. All that was visible was an awning or something from the front of the building. The thermostat wouldn't go below 18º and my room never actually reached that temp. No lotion or conditioner in the bathroom. No taxi or transfer support to/from the airport. Just a bit misleading that this is listed as a 4-star hotel on Google.

the Mercure is so well situated to visit such a range of sites such as the Tower of London, tower Bridge, Borough Market, the aquarium, Leicester Square, London Eye, etc. the beds are very comfortable and there is a good range of food on offer for breakfast.

Great stay as always. Only real blip was the room not being done on Saturday. We appreciate staff absences can occur, but it took a long time, and a number of prompts, before things were sorted. That said, your reception staff were excellent; extremely friendly, helpful and efficient.

We loved the location, easy to walk to multiple tube stations. Plenty of shops and restaurants near by also. Hotel was clean and great sized room.

I expected a lot more from such a reputable company, but even in the king size room there was no space to store luggage, the carpets were stained, and visible dust on commonly used shelves. Very disappointed and will make sure not to return.
