We booked five nights at ibis Frankfurt Airport specifically so we could sleep comfortably at night, rather than inconvenience our relatives who live less than five minutes away. Unfortunately, the stay was extremely disappointing. The hotel advertised fully working air conditioning, which was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel, especially with very hot weather forecast. However, the air conditioning was not working, and we had great difficulty sleeping at night. After spending long days out, being unable to sleep properly because of the heat made the whole stay extremely unpleasant. We reported the problem to reception on the very first night, but the initial response was very disappointing. We were not offered another room or even a fan. We were simply told to raise the issue again in the morning and that we should receive some compensation. No compensation was ever offered, despite us repeatedly raising the issue. Eventually, our room was changed by Mohammed, who was very polite, kind and helpful. A fan was also provided, although it made very little difference. Mohammed repeatedly apologised and acknowledged the problem, and unfortunately we experienced the same air-conditioning fault in the second room as well. There was also no working phone line available to contact reception from the room, meaning we had to physically go downstairs every time we needed to raise an issue. I also contacted ALL Accor customer service twice by email regarding this matter, but have received no response whatsoever. Complaint ID: 25…. Overall, this was a very unpleasant stay and extremely poor customer service. The hotel failed to provide a basic facility that was advertised and that we specifically relied upon when making our booking. The lack of meaningful assistance, promised compensation that never materialised, and complete lack of response from customer service made the experience even worse. I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again.

Perfect size for 2 people. During summer air conditioning is not powerful so fan is required. Free shuttle bus to airport which makes it totally worth it.

Staff were excellent. Didn't see too many customers, might be why I got it for a good price. Little bit away from the airport, but there is a shuttle bus. Standard Ibis room , but it did have a double door that would keep any corridor noise to a minimum. Lots of TV channels, mostly German, but some other European channels as well.

To whom it may concern The Ibis Frankfurt Airport is overall, the classic Ibis experience, standard fare of rooms and service. Everything as usual and good value for money. But not equipped to deal with the heatwave. At all, in my experience. We arrived at the end of Germany´s 2nd 2026 heatwave, around 22:00 at night. And if we believe the night staff, that was what set us up for a horrible, sleepless night. The AC in our room only produced the faintest of air movement with hardly any "cool" air to be noticed. And according to the staff, this is BY DESIGN and working AS INTENDED. While the room itself was still noticeably hotter than the Hotel corridors and the outside, this apparently has no bearings on the function of the room´s AC. Air Conditioning at this Ibis is set to be SHUT OFF, if the outside temperatures drop below 25°C!!! The actual or experienced room temperature is of no influence/ importance and guests have no way to adjust their room temperature. They did not have any other rooms available and we ve been told it would not make a difference as the stated 25°C outside temp cut off point for AC being provided, affects ALL rooms. To their credit the staff furnished us with a (very loud) fan and a bucket of ice and the "top tip" to open the windows. Alas, the windows can only be opened one little slot (kippen) and our room was right above the entrance to the hotel. Where a lot of guests that were watching, or just finished watching the football championships congregated. They made a lot of noise. And once they retired, it only got worse. In the hours from five am on, a nearby freight rail yard started work and the infernal screaming of metal wheels on metal rails filled the air. Granted the windows are excellent at blocking noise from the outside, but that still left us in a rather hot room, without any cool or fresh air, with a very noisy fan only providing the slightest bits of relief. All night. Sleep was hard if not impossible to find and my wife suffered even worse than I did. In conclusion, if the stated AC policy is factual, I can only recommend to give this particular Ibis a wide berth, should you expect climatized rooms in hot weather. With the chance of nighttime temperatures falling to just below 25°C. Please do double check with any other Ibis about their AirCon policy before booking. If the staff was just trying to cover for inadequate air conditioning or one piece of malfunctioning equipment, that still leaves me not being able to speak well of my experience this time. Two free tickets for the airport shuttle bus (worth 6€ per ticket) is all the staff had to offer and that too only after I asked for them. Not really an example of customer service I ve come to enjoy/expect in other Ibis or other All Accor Hotels. Granted Ibis is the budget tier of All Accor Hotels, but this is the first time I was left completely dissatisfied. The Ibis Heidelberg Bahnhof for example went above and beyond the call of duty for us, over something otherwise not even worth mentioning. I am fully aware that the temperatures experienced in Germany at the end June 2026 were higher than what has been normal in Germany, affecting everyone. But they were not entirely unexpected. I also understand Businesses need to stay profitable and the current energy market and climate making things challenging. But the stated policy setting the AirConditioning to not allow guests to adjust their room temperature governed by an arbitrary outside temperature that has no connection to how hot individual rooms are, is something I find deeply worrying. Even if it is steeped in economic considerations. It left me and my wife with no respite at all that night. For me, It also disqualifies the Airport Ibis Frankfurt, from all further considerations. Leaving the review as Dissatisfied instead of Extremely Dissatisfied is the best I can do here. Thank you

The problem is that it really isn't all too close to the airport and is situated in an industrial sector so that there is no possibility for varied food or shopping. If you are just there for the overnight layover then it probably would fit the bill.
