The Mgallery standard is always nice. The staff is relaxed, but very professional. All our wishes and questions were fullfiled and answered. Room was spacy and quiet. Bed vey comfy. Bathroom also spacious. Hotel was well maintained. The Lombardi restaurant is also to be recommended. The food is very good and the views are also great - Jose and Connor were great waiters!

The biggest differentiator of hotel St Amoritz over other luxury brands is the attention to detail every member of staff takes over every interaction. Excellent checkin, bar staff who know their wines and are happy to engage actively, maitre’D and a team of waiting staff who are concerned that your restaurant experience is perfect and a team of chefs who made every meal a delight with excellent presentation, superb ingredients and clever flavour and texture construction. The only issue we had was car parking. Whilst the size of the plot is fixed the management of the hotel needs to engage with local tourism to do deals which do not mean that guests have to search the local vicinity for somewhere to park. In the end it was sorted but slightly took the gloss off a visit which would otherwise have been absolute perfection.

While staff was welcoming and the room was beautiful, it was overpriced for what we received. Located at the top of the hill, it was quite the climb every time back to the hotel. Parking was tight and limited despite paying $40 a night for a spot, and we were blocked in when we went to leave for the airport. The hot tub was nice, but the gate was so tall we could barely reach the latch to open, and we had to remove the covers and turn everything on ourselves. We did appreciate that it was a bit quieter of a hotel so there were no disruptions during the night.

Creating a peaceful retreat just a short walk from the centre of Queenstown. I am sorry, however, that you felt the stay was overpriced. Our rates are aligned with comparable Queenstown properties and reflect seasonal demand, our elevated lakeside location, and the facilities we offer. That said, we completely understand that value is ultimately defined by each guest’s personal experience, and I regret that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. In relation to the hot tubs, we intentionally keep the covers on to maintain temperature and ensure the water remains at an optimal level for guest comfort and hygiene. Guests are welcome to remove the covers and activate the jets as desired. I appreciate your comments regarding the height of the gate latch and will review this with our maintenance team to ensure ease of access. Thank you again for your balanced comments. The booked room was "ungraded" to a "partial view of the lake" room. The room windows were non opening velux style and could only be seen out of if you were standing up and over 5' tall. There was no further upgrade option available. The Chromecast system was not working and had been out of commission since an electrical storm last month. This meant we missed out on seeing the Winter Olympics during our stay. :( The continental breakfast was woeful for anyone requiring gluten free, as there were no GF cereals, pastries etc on offer and you had to ask for GF toast. This makes it an expensive dine in option. The staff were great and tried to accommodate us but the reality is that for an expensive hotel, it did not deliver on the promise.
