I had a room with a view, which was very nice, the views from restaurant were also excellent. I thought the prepaid breakfast vouchers were excellent value and the initiative of giving a credit voucher for the restaurant, in return for forgoing a room clean, was an excellent idea to save on resources and energy.

Dear Fiona, Thank you for your kind words following your recent stay with us at Hotel St Moritz. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the stunning views and appreciated our sustainability initiatives. We hope to welcome you back again soon for another memorable stay. Kind Regards, Beth March Front Office Manager

Our room 530 was a lovely, large, well fitted room but the most awful location within the building. I wish we would have asked and paid for an upgrade to lake view. I love rooms that have windows that open, but all we got then was cigarette smoke from below and our view was of concrete. The hotel was booked by our travel agent. I would stay again but I’ll do the booking. However, the staff really shine, and the breakfasts were great. Thank you !

Dear Richard, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the spaciousness of your room and that our staff made a positive impression on your stay! I apologize for the issues with the location and the smoke; I understand how that can impact your experience. If you choose to stay with us again, I’d recommend discussing your preferences with us directly, as we’d love to help you find the perfect room to suit your needs. Thanks again for your kind words about our breakfast! We hope to welcome you back soon. Sincerely, Claire Simpson Rooms Division Manager

We stayed in a Lakeview Balcony Room on the 3rd floor for five nights. While the view was unexpectedly obstructed (and not advertised as such), it was still pleasant. Unfortunately, the room layout significantly detracted from the experience. The furniture placement made it nearly impossible to enjoy the view — an extremely heavy sofa was positioned in the corner facing a wall, and the bed was hidden behind a separate partition. To actually enjoy the lake view we paid for, we found ourselves sitting on the floor. The bedroom itself was very cramped, requiring you to squeeze between the bed and wall to move around comfortably. The bed was only a queen size, which felt underwhelming given the premium price point. The bathroom was also showing signs of wear, with ageing grout and silicone and visible mould. Being located one floor below the lobby meant we experienced constant noise, with footsteps and doors banging early in the morning and late at night. On our first night, we attempted to change rooms due to these issues, but the hotel staff were not helpful in offering any form of resolution. Room service food was good, but extremely expensive — and charging a tray fee seems unreasonable when there is no alternative way for food to be delivered to the room. On checkout, we also had to question almost $100 NZD in incorrect charges, including parking fees for nights we did not park and drinks that were told to us as complimentary as Accor members. Unfortunately, due to the room design, service issues, noise and billing errors, we would not recommend this hotel.
