Mercure Queenstown offers a stunning and unblocked view of the lake. The moment I entered the room I knew I had to give full score to this hotel! Prepare to see hundreds of stars at night just from your room window. The service was also friendly. They even reserved a shaded parking lot for me.

Arrived at the Mercure in time to celebrate my wife's birthday and were rewarded with a room featuring a large picture window spectacularly overlooking the lake and mountains...couldn't have asked for better. In addition my wife was presented with a "happy Birthday" platter and birthday car just to top it off. Dinner with good NZ wine in the restaurant, once again with the stunning lake and mountain view. The bar/lounge area is pleasantly comfortable and relaxing, overlooking the restaurant and of course the view. The location is only minutes by car from town where you'll find a great range of cafes, restaurants and bars. In the CBD parking is frequently only 30 minutes but there is also a 120minute zone just a couple of blocks off the main street. The hotel has a large open car park that is patrolled at night but be prepared to pay $15 a night for the parking. Parking on the street is free, but it's a busy road and the hotel park is worth the fee. As with other hotels on our self drive holiday the Mercure was selected as part of the package, but we don't feel we could have chosen better.

Walls are thin and there was a lot of loud noise from the halls. The first night my room smelled like someone had smoked in it. I was unimpressed with the bathroom. Otherwise, friendly staff, decent bed.

Not worth the money even whilst being a gold member. The rooms are old and outdated and the bathrooms you don’t even feel like using. For $340/night you’re better off going elsewhere. I would not recommend to anyone, my fiancé didn’t even shower there she was so disgusted. The photos show something else and the rooms seem to be something else. Don’t stay, pay the extra $100 and find an airbnb. Luckily for us we were only staying here one night, more than one night would’ve been a nightmare. In the mornings you can hear other people walking through the floor and it’s so loud, plenty of negatives and only positive is the view from outside the restaurant. Also we got drinks at Mercure the night we checked in and they weren’t that bad, the mixes were horrible. This place isn’t a hotel it’s a motel and for someone who loves to book with Accor I will be thinking twice about it in the future.
