I have stayed at the Novotel before and don't recall any issues. My stay this time had a few little small but noticeable quirks not usually seen in other hotels. The bathroom was said to be "newly renovated" but there was peeling paint on the ceiling. The absence of a shower recess or curtain meant that the adjacent toilet and floor got wet every time I had a shower (at least the toilet paper did not get wet). The shower head kept moving sideways and up with the water pressure so it had to be fixed in place with a lot of pressure as otherwise the water spray would have wet more of the bathroom. The bins did not have any liners so I had to be careful what was placed in them - only dry things. If anything wet like a teabag had to go in, this had to be wrapped in paper. The previous occupant had kindly deposited some chewing gum in the recycled bin. The coffee machine was appreciated and at least the bed was comfortable.

Room size was good and view was wonderful. Shower was very slippery and dangerous and we had to lay towel in shower when using. Pillows provided were all extremely hard. Staff were pleasant and helpful where required. Hotel needing uplift. There was some works being done but perhaps that is the beginning of refreshing hotel. Restaurant breakfast was acceptable.

We couldn’t bring ourselves to stay in another Accor hotel after a shocking experience at the Adelaide Sofitel, so we cancelled even though we forfeited the entire cost.

We had Junior Suite - Harbour View. Hotel is in a great location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Coffee at breakfast was good. But overall, the hotel needs a major renovation. The rooms are clean but extremely tired. We paid for the secure parking which was easy to access. TV's in our room keep freezing, but luckily we were out and about most of the time.

An expected welcome and quick check-in from friendly staff. Staff smiled and said hello as you passed; everyone was very welcoming and friendly. It's within walking distance of town, with great venues, and easy to navigate.

The hotel is in need of an overhaul. Some repairs were underway with the roof literally be held up which was extremely unsightly. The interior was not very good - the balcony roof with holes, the fridge with no shelves and very poorly appointed.

You need more employees behind the desk when you know people are going to in on a bus for example. The chairs in dining room/ breakfast .need to be cleaned . I was sitting having breakfast I noticed how dirty the legs of the chairs were . There was dust and spills all over them ! The carpet in the lifts should vacuumed a few time a day . It’s not a good look . Lastly , I ordered hommus as a snack. It was the worst hommus I have tasted ! No lemon or garlic anywhere . Sorry

The rooms were very dated, our bathroom had no fan and the looked very shabby. Dust and mould on the fan.
