Hotel room was clean and ok for us as it was a base, somewhere to sleep and freshen up. If I had any comments to make it would be a lack of customer service around the bar area and restaurant. We enquired about booking a table for a group of 10 maybe 12 and were told we should have reserved 24 hours before, we took our business elsewhere so the hotel missed the chance to earn some 800+ euros from our group. Bar appears to close randomly and when drinks were requested the bar man said “ no tip, no drinks”, Strange how a hotel can operate in this manner…. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. No fridge in the room meant putting bottled water on the air con to keep it cool.

We were lucky enough to get given a room on the 13th floor. Lovely view. I found the room comfortable enough but a bit small. Bathroom layout was strange. However I slept well. Breakfast was good and staff were professional. Fast check in.

The hotel has seen far better days, the room we had was tiny, the bathroom had no door and no room to move, the aircon was a complete joke, the bar and restaurant didn’t open once whilst we were there, asked for a bucket of ice and was told it’s not possible; honestly this has to be one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in for years and such a shame because Potsdam is a beautiful place to visit.

We stayed here en route through Germany and had easy access to explore Berlin the next day. The hotel staff were friendly, the room clean and spacious enough for 2 adults a 10 year old and our dog. The breakfast was very nice too. Our only grumble, which didn’t overly spoil things, was that when we arrived the car park was full and we had to park on the other side of a park from the hotel and walk about 5 minutes.

Arrived at 1200pm to a friendly welcome, we were allowed to check in early as well as being given a complimentary upgrade to a room on a higher floor. Comfortable beds and room was quiet with windows closed. High standard of cleanliness throughout. Breakfast was adequate with all the usual buffet options. Location practical within 10 minutes walk of train station. Happy with the price we paid.

The Restaurant availability for dinner was limited. No Snacks were available in the Bar either. I pointed out a mistake in a poster announcing the need to evacuate the hotel because of a bomb disposal. The mistake was subsequently corrected by hand. The carpet area next to the buffet station needs to be replaced. My pillow case was too small for the pillow., and the down cover had a hole in it. There is an opportunity for improving hotel management.

As an international business traveler, I very much depend on the Wi-Fi that a hotel provides to allow me to remain connected to my team and have meetings. Wi-Fi at this hotel was horrendous. It would work for a little bit -30 seconds- and then we just cut out and stop. When you’re in a live meeting, you can’t come in and out of audio and have a constructive meeting. It made me look bad. It didn’t allow me to work from the hotel, which I was very much depending on. don’t have a data plan that I can use for a consistent period on my phone so this really shut me down. I will not be staying at this hotel again because of that. If you want to attract business travelers and honestly probably most travelers, you need to fix your Wi-Fi.
