Room smell and size was an issue for me. Although it is advertised as a Non Smoking Property, there was a strong tobacco or ... smell in the room. Also, for a premium room the room size is on the small side.

A classic Novotel experience in Madrid. Nothing extraordinary, but exactly what you expect from a reliable international chain. The rooms are quite spacious, and the bathroom is well equipped with all the necessary amenities. The breakfast, served on the first floor, is excellent with a wide selection of hot dishes from both local and international cuisine. The hotel isn’t located in the very center of Madrid, but if the area works for you, it’s a great and comfortable place to stay.
