This was my first time staying here as my usual hotel cancelled us to house refugees. I was extremely impressed, disability accessible room was clean, tidy, looked lovely and plenty of space for a disabled person, bed was very comfy. The ensuite was great for a disabled person. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. This will now be my new hotel to stay at whenever I come to the area, which is a couple of times a year. Very impressed and satisfied.

I have stayed here before- the layout of the rooms is good and so is the location and parking. However- I experienced 3 problems in a one night stay. I requested a quiet room and was put in room 333 which ajoins the adjacent room with a thin connecting door. On settling into the room I could hear load conversations coming through the door. So I went to reception and swapped to room 358. The only issue with this new room was the heating. the room was cold and I tried various settings on the aircon control panel and still couldn't get warm air. I knew it wasnt a general problem as when I was in 333 I switched on the heating and within minutes the room was warm. I went to reception where the concierge was rather dismissive and told me that I had set it too high. He pushed it down to 24C remotely. However the heating still didnt work effectively and the room was continually cold. I couldn't be bothered to complain again so I went to bed. I suggest that instructions for the units are put on laminated cards next to the controllers and the concierges give clearer instructions . I work in the HVAC industry so I am familiar with the operation of this type of control but this was not operating as I expected. Next morning I checked out but a paper receipt was not available . I left my email. However by that evening I still had not received an email receipt. I made several calls and eventually got through to reception about 1930 and a receipt was sent.

Felt like I got looked down on by reception also still waiting for my receipt for the extras I purchased as the printer wasn’t working on reception

The check in and room was very good. However, I feel the breakfast was a let down. Full English items were tepid, the bacon was so hard you couldn't cut it with a knife. It would be better to make things in smaller quantities to make sure everything is hot and fresh.

Rude disorganised staff dirty rooms and corridors. Called when booking was made was told we would get a 5pm c/o as being an Accor member this was free also was my birthday was promised something special would be on arrival. Arrived at the hotel no notes left on the booking asked for GM’s email was told they don’t have a GM by Shauna very rude no customer service what so ever. Spoke to Hamed the night staff explained he had 26 years experience working in hotels however that did not reflect I explained the situation and told him when we called and the staff member checked with the manager if it was ok for the late c/o and surprised. He said he was working that shift and he would need to look into this… at this point we were fed up so left a night early as we felt unwelcome. Received a call from Hamed to say it wasn’t him on shift but the GM when we called! How is this possible when we were told by Shauna that they currently don’t have a GM? As we’ve stayed at this hotel pre lockdown we thought we would return but we should have read the most recent reviews!! Definitely avoid rooms are not clean smears up the walls including bathroom. The whole hotel has a bad smell throughout. Staff clearly need to be retrained on how to talk to guests and listen to what they have to say rather than talk over them.
