Bedroom wall was smothered with mould spores, how the hotel/maintenance or cleaning staff never saw this is unacceptable. Health hazard. The food was abismal, burnt, microwaved and packet food, just dreadful.

Windows in room didn't seal properly, so room was a little draughty, despite aircon trying to keep it warm. Website says room ("Superior Premium") has a bath, but it only had a shower - much to my wife's disappointment. Only 3 mains sockets - two by table/TV, one to one side of the bed - ought to be more in this day and age with laptops and phones to charge.

I stayed at Novotel Nottingham Derby from 31st December 2025 to 1st January 2026, and overall it was a very pleasant experience. The reception staff were extremely nice and welcoming on arrival. They were friendly, professional, and made check-in smooth and easy, which was much appreciated, especially during the New Year period. The following morning, the chef and restaurant staff were also very nice. Breakfast was well prepared, and the team were polite, attentive, and always smiling, which created a lovely start to the new year. As a Hongkonger, I was pleasantly surprised and genuinely touched to see that the hotel employs staff from Hong Kong. It was wonderful to see fellow Hongkongers working there and, most importantly, to see how happy and positive they were in their roles. This made my stay feel even more special and welcoming. Thank you to the whole team for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I would be happy to stay here again.

Have been staying off and on for the last year while my Dwight has builders in. She lives just 5/7 minutes away so the hotel is perfectly placed. The receptionists are lovely and always so helpful. Sadly this time the food wasn't up to the usual standard.
