Mercure Nottingham Sherwood Hotel 4 stars

The hotel is very well placed for driving into the centre or out to visit places outside Nottingham. There is ample free parking if you are staying there. You have to log in your car details at reception on arrival. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The modern shower had a large overhead, straight down shower head but no hand shower. This was a bit annoying for me as I did not want to get my long hair wet! There was a lot of choice for breakfast and there was a cappuccino, latte etc coffee machine which was very nice. On the whole I recommend the hotel for couples although here were 2 youngish families there at breakfast time. I also liked the Nottingham Lace themed decor throughout the hotel.

Upon arrival at reception neither of the two receptionists acknowledged me. One got up and left the desk and the other didn't say anything until I was entering my car registration details, and just said "Are you checking in?". The room was a good size, and well provisioned. At breakfast the next day we did not speak to one member of staff, no one checked our room number, if we had breakfast included, or explained the process. On check-out there were no receptionists to be seen. The hotel was fine for a one night stay, but I wouldn't rush back.

I had a brilliant couple of days staying at the Mercure, the food was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was so comfortable and the rooms were cosy but comfortable. Particular thanks to the staff, Mykhailo, Dominik, Ariana, Ioanis, Kristina, and Imad for making my stay so enjoyable. Thank you!
