Whilst the room and staff were superb, the food available was not very good. The menu was not great and on one evening, I was told that much of it wasn't actually available. As I am there for business, a good meal before bed is really appreciated, and sets me up for the next day's work. Especially disappointing as other Mercures have fantastic food.

We had a lovely stay visiting my daughter. Great location close to the city centre. Although the room next to us were very loud and noisy at 7am (sounded like there were loads of people in the room having a party for over an hour which kept us awake when we were hoping for a lay in). We did not know how to call down to the front desk to complain. Facilities were good and bonus there was on site parking.

We found the Hotel to be very well appointed and clean throughout. All the staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. Our room was modern and extremely comfortable, with every thing we needed for a good stay (although I would have preferred a bath, which wasn't an option at the hotel). The restaurant was nice, although lighting quite dim. There had not been a food delivery during our stay so the menu was very very limited, but we enjoyed what we had. There is also an award winning fish and chip restaurant two minutes walk away. The location of the hotel was excellent for us, with very regular public transport into the city center very near by. We would very highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate with staying again ourselves.

The Mercure is a comfortable hotel. I've stayed over several years and it is not quite so well maintained as it used to be. The changing rooms by the swimming pool had a leaking ceiling and it was hard to unplug the sink in the bedroom. But the staff are friendly and the food is good.

Paid for food and room service. Waited 2.5 hours for food and so had to pay full price and food was cold. Stains on bedding which fair enough was changed. Reception staff... some are helpful so not so much. Very loud next door having sex and was that loud it sounded like i was in the room with them. Then another couple arguing and slamming did late. Very rough and most nights massive meetings. Long ques to speak to reception staff. No one has mentioned leisure facilities which I thought was included in stay but obviously not?
