Booked via Hotels.com Turned up in the evening and tried to check in, while process was awful. You walk in and it’s a pub? No clear area to check in, music very loud and people drunk and drinking everywhere. 1 person on the bar had to ask them if we could check in. Very rude and unhelpful. Told us we hadn’t booked what we had, then after seeing booking confirmation on my phone they just said “well we don’t even have that kind of room here” so we asked if we could just scrap that booking and book another room, was told no, without even checking availability. All while running around and serving drinks to people and paying us no kind. Ended up accepting that we’d already paid and wouldn’t be getting any help from this person so just left the establishment and booked elsewhere. Ruined the night and our experience with Ibis. Will be advising friends and family to use another chain in future

Key card to rooms lost the ability to open a door multiple times, meaning many trips back to reception to have the card reactivated. Never was I asked to prove or confirm my identity. As a lone female traveller this was not reassuring. Breakfast was nice.

Hotel was convenient but not a nice place to walk in the evenings due to homelessness. The room was excessively hot the aircon doesn’t function as aircon apparently and the very friendly staff member who I spoke with suggested the best way to cool the room was to open the window, however my room overlooked the back of the hotel and it was extremely noisy very late into the night. My room lock took multiple attempts each time for my key to open it, it would go green but the handle wouldn’t open, if I was lucky I would only need to do this 6 times each time I wanted to enter my room. Breakfast was ok.

Simple booking, easy car parking (opposite hotel), located centrally and in easy reach of my destination as well as the wider city centre. Simple and quick check in with friendly staff. Room was spot on, clean and tidy. And of course, super reasonably priced. Can't ask for more than that!

Check in this time was great, lovely staff member. The room was pretty basic, few niggles; there was hair in the shower, one used toilet roll which ran out pretty quickly, the TV remote only worked if you were right next to the TV, the duvets were too thick for summertime, there was a strong smell of urine which might have been coming from the bed, only one bin which was in the bathroom.
