Based on another airport hotel experience in Brussels I wanted to try out this Novotel as a potential future option when I fly to Brussels. The only thing I enjoyed was the breakfast. For airport-hotel transfers there is a significant chunk of time during which the shuttle transfer is unavailable (I think between 11:30 - 4pm). So I walked. I am a Gold member and was told that I was upgraded but as soon as I got into the room I could tell no one had been in there to do a a cleaning for a while (dead fly on the window sill, two coffee pods had been used and never replaced, while the sheets were washed there was still a small bloodstain on them...its the little things). I was also surprised at the condition of the room, the window sill was warped with some major damage, and overall you could tell there hadn't been much physical maintenance for a while or its not a priority for this location. For the buffet dinner, one recommendation would be to have guests pay in advance before sitting (33 EUR) or to get their room numbers to avoid awkward encounters afterwards. It was my bad for assuming they had my number or that I would be charged at check out...I think the floor manager thought I was going to dine and dash so he treated me like I was going to do that. He tsked at me, asked me multiple times what my table was and made sure I knew I was in the wrong for assuming the dining room operated like most other hotels. However, the breakfast service was smooth, with plenty of options and the attentiveness of the staff was on point.

I regularly use Novotel Brussels Airport when on business trip in the Brussels Airport area. I always experience a consistent quality and standard. Also very pleased to see that even after many years of visiting the hotel I still encounter staff that I know from previous stays. For me this kind of indicates that the hotel does not only care about its customers but also about its employees. I agree that the rooms can be outdated and that the restaurant offer could get an upgrade as well but this does not prevent me from choosing Novotel Brussels Airport for my next stay.

Great airport location. Free shuttle was an important factor.
