Nice Hotel but So Much Construction

TripAdvisor rating 1.0/5

Tahlia F TripAdvisor review

I cannot recommend booking this hotel. The hotel was well located, friendly staff, nice rooms with good breakfast. That said, I booked a harbour facing room and you looked out over a construction site then the harbour. The windows were incredibly dirty and the view interrupted by 4 cranes. The construction woke me up at 7am and on several nights kept me up in the evenings as well. I booked the hotel because of the pool but again, the view is blocked by cranes (and you hear drilling) and the pool area does not look like the photos. There were cheap pool loungers (not cushiony sun beds), and dirty glasses, plates and towels scattered everywhere. I know the construction is buried on the hotel website and it’s “out of the hotels control” but for the amount charged per night it’s incredibly cheeky and you don’t get a good nights sleep.

Short but great stay. We were on 26 floor so great view and Lucky it was a saturday so had the best view to the fireworks. As a platinum member we had access to the lounge which is super with free drinks and food on the evening and endless breakfast and is on the top floor. I think it is one of the best lounges in the accor group. It is not cheap hotel but i would say worthwhile. The pool is very crowded and not big but has a nice view.

Terrible experience!!!

Such a stressful and terrible experience. 2:00PM CHECK IN couldn’t get in the room to 5:30 absolutely disgusting and the concierge were not accommodating and couldn’t give damn at all. We were late to an event because we could’ve get ready. Terrible service for an $800 & $1,200 room. Should have went to Novotel or W.

Stayed here for a week at the end of a 6-week trip touring. Was hoping for a bit of 'luxury' and wasn't disappointed. Paid for an upgrade the day before check-in to a junior suite which proved good value - the additional space, plus access to the Millesime Lounge (breakfast, afternoon tea and early evening drinks) was worth the additional cost in our view. Location is great, with so much within easy walking distance - there is some construction work going on immediately next to the hotel but from our high room (33F) this wasn't a problem. Staff throughout are excellent - concierge/door, reception, lounge - all so good (special shout-outs to Vincent and Grace in the lounge though !). The room was as expected - fabulous view, comfy bed and sofa, plenty of room, huge bathroom etc etc. Liked the gym - decent size and well-equipped. With so many restaurants within an easy walk we didn't eat in the hotel other than breakfast/snacks in the lounge. Valet parking is very efficient and whilst a little expensive the hassle of trying to park in the (also expensive) nearby multi-storey made this worthwhile too. Great stay overall and a nice end to the trip

Great service and enjoyed our stay and pool area. Shortage of chairs and pool beds around pool during our visit so we waited for people to leave the pool area. Only concern is the active crane and construction activity in front of the hotel. We were on level 21 so hope our views will not be blocked out for the future
