January is the hottest month with average temperatures reaching the mid-20's to low 30's (degrees celsius) during the day while July is the coldest month with temperatures reaching the mid to high teens. To go at the hottest times for summer activities and beach swims visit over summer (December to February), or late spring/early autumn for high temperatures with less crowds.
Getting around Maroochydore
There are public buses for getting around the sunshine coast. To hop on a public bus, purchase a go card for cheaper fares and convenience getting around. Maroochydore is a small township so it is possible to get around the main central attractions and the beaches by foot. If planning to visit other coastal areas and do wider exploring, it is recommended you have a car with you or hire a car. Alternatively, there are coaches and tour services that can be arranged.
