We were upgraded to 3br lagoon view, providing a beautiful outlook across to the Novotel side. Apartment was super spacious and well furnished, with a private pool, shared with the others in the block. Undercover parking for 2 cars was useful with 6 of us. It's a very quiet location and the only noise was Saturday night, from a late party at an overwater bungalow across the lagoon. Walking distance to Novotel, around the resort pathways for facilities, such as cafe, bar, restaurant. You could stay on site and not leave if you really wanted a rest.

Check in was easy and pleasant after hours, no problems at all. We arrived at our unit (67) last Friday evening and immediately noticed how unclean it was and had a terrible odour also. Our daughter’s room downstairs was filthy with dust all over the roof and made her allergies unbearable. She needed extra medication and could barely sleep from the discomfort. Our son’s room was full of large ants and crawling all over the floor and over his bed. He was petrified by this. We spoke to reception on the Saturday morning and they were good. They organised an extra clean from the staff to attend. They attended with products and a large can of bug spray. We went out and upon return noticed the bug spray still on the table and the roof hadn’t been cleaned, it just stirred the dust even more. We paid over $1300 for 2 nights stay and expected a lot more. Breakfast was expensive ($42 each) for what it was, there were no coffee pods or facilities in the room apart from a kettle for instant. The lagoon was great but an extra $5 for each stand up board and $10 each push bike for an hour? On top of the $1300 for accommodation, this is crazy. We were very much looking forward to a quick weekend getaway with the kids and paid a lot for it. We were really disappointed with how the accommodation was and all the ‘extras’ for seemingly normal unpowered activities. We were hoping that Sebel could be our new go to for weekends away and family holidays but not likely after that first experience. We know it was nearly fully booked out and accept that it probably always will be but wanted to let you know we felt let down by the whole situation.

Due to the high standards required of our Housekeeping Team, issues such as these are rare occurrences and I must express my sincere apologies for the disappointment this has caused you. I was also sorry to read of the disappointment in the facilities and charges at Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort. Although both managed by Accor, the Novotel is a separately owned and operated Resort to Sebel so while we do not have any input in their policies and procedures, I will forward on your feedback to the properties Manager so that they are aware of your concerns. I have passed on your concerns regarding the WiFi connection to our service provider so that they can investigate and rectify as required. Workmen below all day so had to go out for the entire day as I couldn’t work

While I was pleased to hear that overall you enjoyed your stay with us, I was very sorry to hear that it was affected some workmen in the apartment below. Anytime we are aware of any sort of renovations works being completed we try our best to allocate our guests as far away as possible. Unfortunately we were not made aware of these works in the privately occupied apartment below so were unable to complete this prior planning. A very well designed and equipped apartment. When we opened the door we were blown away by how beautiful and clean the apartment was. It had everything that we needed for a 5 night stay. We will definitely be back.
