I stayed at the resort for six nights while attending a conference. Unfortunately, the rooms reserved for conference participants were fully booked very quickly, so I was assigned to a room that was far away from the conference venue, which was quite inconvenient. During the first three nights of my stay, no housekeeping service was provided at all. The trash was not emptied, the floor was not cleaned, the bathroom remained wet with standing water, and the towels were never replaced. We reported these issues to the front desk three times, but our concerns were not handled properly. It seemed that the staff never passed our requests on to the housekeeping team. It was only after the fourth complaint that our room was finally cleaned. Both the front desk service and the housekeeping service were extremely disappointing. In addition, the breakfast menu was very repetitive throughout my stay and offered very little variety, with almost no meat options. Overall, this was a frustrating experience, especially considering I stayed for six nights.

The resort is large and even in low season where I could tell the hotel wasn't highly used, I was provided a room that was far away from the main area (Was staying 5 days - would have thought a better room would have been given). In the room even on a bright sunny day was very dark. The room was meant to be a single bed plus a queen but the queen was two singles put together. This was very uncomfortable to sleep on once you turned into the middle (seam), beds where very soft. The room had no additional space for other furniture so everything included eating and watching tv was done on the beds. The tv was only free to air. No way of connecting existing streaming services. The furniture was old and styling was old but functional. The large swimming pool was very cold so we tested it out but could only use the spa which other guests where in. The breakfast was good. The equipment you can use on the lake was good and you can rent bikes. The location of the resort meant you are a little isolated from other shops or restaurants. Next time I'm in the Sunshine Coast I will stay in the main part of town. Ive stayed in many other Novotels in Australia and this resort is more like a Ramada in standard than a Novotel.

Was previously my go to hotel for any stays on the Sunshine Coast, but it is slowly losing its way. As a Platinum member of long standing, I have not been upgraded on my last 2 stays with this stay having me placed in a room nearly as far as you can get from the lobby. Breakfast as always was great, but the offerings on the Sola menu are just getting smaller and smaller with nothing of any great interest available. A real pity as it used to be one of the highlights of a stay at the hotel.
