Staff were mixed. Some were friendly and cheerful, while others were noticeably disengaged. The Sola restaurant was reasonable with a fair selection for dinner. However, the burger should be avoided, the bun was stale and unpleasant. Unfortunately, the rooms were well below an acceptable standard. The bedding had a strong, unpleasant odour to the point that two pillows had to be removed from the room and stored on the balcony. There was visible internal water damage to the ceiling with mould present. Dust build-up in the vents and throughout the room was excessive and concerning. The air conditioning was ineffective and extremely noisy, making sleep very difficult. Even when switched off, a loud hum continued and could be heard from outside the room. Daily housekeeping was inconsistent, some days were satisfactory, while others were extremely poor. Overall, the resort appears to be suffering from significant neglect. Severe water damage is visible throughout the property, along with fallen trees and uneven pathways at the rear of the accommodation that appear to have been left unattended for a long time. I have stayed at numerous Novotel properties across Australia, and this was by far the worst experience. It has unfortunately led me to decide that I will not stay at another Novotel again.

The Novatel twin waters was a place i have wanted to visit for some time but never seemed to get there till now. Was a little underwhelmed as our room was not completely in good condition. Skirting was coming apart from the walls, in the shower area there was built in dirt/ mold. Walked past a step tread that was broken and a support pillar that was wrotten/ termite damaged. The staff were friendly and happy to help in any way they could. We were told that we were on the renovated side of the resort?

Platinum Accor member and while I didnt ask for an upgrade, nor was I offered one my only specifications were that could I please have a ground floor room with grassed area out the front for the kids to play (I did pay for the upgrade to a lagoon view). Instead I was given a room that had a view of massive trees that had fallen in recent storms and had hazard tape around it. If I was only staying one or two nights, it may not have been so bad, but I think asking for the room I paid for for a week long stay isnt too much to ask, I didnt complain at the hotel, because I'd really like just to get the bare minimum (what you pay for) and not always have to argue the fact (it gets tiring and is embarrassing). I also to add to ask if they do welcome gifts for Accor members as our friends received one 3 days after we checked in on their first day but we did not even though they are at a lower level of status. So what I would say is, even though the rooms may be tired, your cleaning team kept it clean each day, but other resort staff were lacking. We were there for a whole week and not once were we acknowledged or remembered at breakfast, lunch or dinner, its the little things that make you feel welcome.

The reason for an 8 score was the Room has good size but showing its age and probably only 3 Star. However the staff was the best I have come across and rate 5+ Stars.

As good as the location of the reception and bar were, the rooms were in worst condition and the housekeeping was worse as had to call them n times to just order a pouch of milk or water. Also in 2 days stay, the housekeeping just turned up once to clean and as we were busy getting ready for outing, we asked them to come later , which never came and for the whole 2 days the room wasn't cleaned.
