Fabulous Resort!

dsingrafton Couples - TripAdvisor review

We absolutely love coming to this place. Drive in and leave the car in the car park!! We had a suite overlooking the lagoon and it was perfect. What a great view, and plenty of room, huge bed, comfy lounges and room service if you need it!! Reception on arrival was great, cocktails were prepared by helpful staff and a fabulous buffet breakfast!! The pool is sensational and lots of water sports to choose from!! We always keep coming back!!

Horribly maintained with incompetent management

Wendy Y TripAdvisor review

Reception area & pool nicest part of the hotel. Check in a nightmare, early checkin “included” with silver membership, room was not ready & advised quite rudely that checkin is 2pm. When reporting back to check in from horribly priced and what can only be described as cafe food and basic service from Sola restaurant, advised room was still not ready and so finally one decent person on reception changed rooms for us so we could check in. No amenities provided as is usual among silver accor member guests. Upon arrival into our room, the smell of mildew dismally covered up by what smelled like toilet spray, was overpowering and the clear evidence of mould literally everywhere was revolting. Mould on skirting boards, tv stand, sides of bedside tables, fridge seals, shelf under fridge FILTHY and covered with mould. Bathroom smelled stagnant & what could only be described as a long time buildup of human “mess” around the toilet lid connection plates, clearly visible, along with an under cleaned and stained toilet. Nothing in the bathroom smelled fresh or clean and had almost a stale public toilet smell. I purchased and wiped everything down with antibacterial wipes. I advised upon calling prior to our arrival that I had a pretty severe dust allergy, but every surface covered, skirting boards behind bedsides & floor under beds have not been dusted in what looks like forever, spider webs on back of bedside table, curtains full of dust and mildew on back of block out curtains, insects and dead flys in door tracks. Sloppy beds upon arrival, mouldy bins, black mould and who knows what else around tap fittings and sink drains. That was only the room! There is NO assistance in being escorted to your room, just given a very confusing map, only to be even more confused by the oddly numbered room direction signs. No porters, lifts or assistance in literally dragging our suitcases up the falling apart stairs in the pouring rain, only to discover a massive hole in the roof that looked like it had fallen through a while ago and was rotting and literally pouring out water with only 3 red poles with yellow tape around them. No slip hazard signs. Pathways around hotel covered in slippery moss, which myself and my partner both slipped and injured ourselves on and upon report of this to reception got a generic apology with no question of where the hazard was nor do I think they actually cared. Jetty off pool area into lagoon falling apart and cordoned off and upon asking activities staff when it will be in operation, we were told it had been like that for months and had no idea of when maintenance would be completed. Directly next to the pool there is a wall (maybe where steps used to be?) and planter boxes cordoned off with tape that looks as though it’s collapsed from damage and has just been left there with kids running around and over it. Maintenance and house keep stores left open clearly visible to guests, absolutely disgusting with over flowing rubbish that had bush turkeys inside the room happily picking through the trash pouring out of the bins, messy cleaning trolley blocking walkways in these areas and just looks so unprofessional. Breakfast terrible, although restaurant visibly nice. Food ridiculously overpriced and received a more sophisticated, fresh, delicious and price friendly breakfast (after choosing to not waste our money again at the Sola) from a cafe called the cock and hen 2 min up the road. Sola food 3/10, deli coffees revolting tasted like burnt beans & dishwater. No umbrella provided for our extensive walk throughout the resort to try and find our room, directed only by housekeeping staff, who I might add, provided bad housekeeping, thrown together messy beds, non vacuumed floors; although I will acknowledge that when approaching a couple of professional, friendly housekeepers and asking for more towels, toilet paper, milk, tea, coffee etc that had not been left after our service, they could not have been more apologetic and helpful, one lady even changing our pillow cases and sheet as they had stains on them upon our arrival and profusely apologising for the embarrassing state of our experience, and left her cleaning timetable to go and search for umbrellas and promtply delivered them with second to none customer service, as should be the norm through the hotel. Empty tissue boxes, minute amount of toilet paper left on the holder, television not working, phone not working, aircon not working, even after we were rudely advised to shut the patio doors for it to activate. After all of this we had had enough and asked to be moved into an actual CLEAN, functioning room, that wasn’t a risk to our health, we were again rudely advised it won’t be possible as the 500 odd rooms were at full capacity. This “resort” is AT BEST 3 star and an absolutely waste of your money, I’ve stayed in roadside motels in better, more habitable conditions. This “4 star resort” is an absolute farce and is a law suit waiting to happen. I actually am incredulous as to how it has not been investigated and shut down already due to the appalling WHS conditions. It is so clearly visible that funding is not being allocated to the very bare minimum in maintenance and room quality, safety measures and upkeep of pretty essential things like roofs, stair railings, patio vertical wood planks that have disintegrated and the metal struts they are actually meant to be attached to are not even attached to the ground. I could swing the plank attached to the metal fitting side to side. Rusted metal shards falling all over the patio. I could go on and on, but in short, this once lovely resort has been left to absolute ruin whilst still charging maximum ridiculous prices for these old, unclean & health hazardous rooms. 100% do not recommend, especially with families who will have small children and babies in rooms covered with mould. The generic responses to all reviews I’ve read are absolute rubbish and nothing will be done as I’m sure this is not the first detailed review of what is actually happening at this place. The Sebel is right next door which I would recommend and also plenty of mantra hotels, gorgeous Noosa resorts, etc all under Accor that would actually feel like a decent resort experience for the same money you will pay for this place. Management should be absolutely mortified & humiliated by the state of this hotel.

Rooms whilst clean where old and dated. Maintenance doesn't appear to be at the fore front either. Looks like a complete lack of care for the overall facility. We had dinner in the restaurant and must say the food was very good. Nothing fancy but very nice. The response from the desk staff was ho hum and lacked any sort of urgency. I won't be rushing back.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the food in our restaurant, though we are sorry to learn that other aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We apologize for the condition of the room and the lack of urgency from our desk staff. These concerns have been shared with our management team for immediate review and improvement. We value your comments and hope to have the opportunity to provide a more positive experience in the future. Sincerely, Guest Service Agent
