It was fine. Rooms were clean, water pressure was not great. Some design elements were really weird, blockout curtains but clear bathroom doors means the sunrise gets in that way without a way to block it. Housekeeping missed out on some drinks sachets one day. Front desk was understaffed at checkout times. Tv was suppose to have screen share but when ask front desk, they were reluctant to troubleshoot or send someone to help - just excuse away on phone incompatibility when told the option doesn't exist on TV. Lift was out of commission but even if worked, there was still stairs to be taken to get to room, this really wasn't clear. Basically it's short of a great stay, it's just all the little things that add up to a poorer experience.

Friendly and helpful staff ( concern was shown to my wife when coughing whilst eating as she got food lodged in her throat ) the hotel was neat, clean and comfortable, parking was free and easy and the CBD was within easy walking distance

I had a very pleasant stay at Mercure Launceston. As an Accor Gold member, I was kindly upgraded to a spacious room, which was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were all very friendly, attentive, and responsible, and their service made my stay especially enjoyable. Thank you to the whole team for the wonderful hospitality. I would be happy to stay here again on my next visit to Launceston.

Room amenities were fine, but free bottle of water in fridge is a common courtesy. My friend and I are over 70 and stayed in separate rooms to ensure our individual comfort. We were given Rooms 228 and 230. After taking the lift we discovered that we needed to carry our suitcases up a series of stairs which was quite difficult especially as I have balance issues. The lift was also out of action for one night and the next morning when we were checking out. When we asked someone did go up the stairs to bring our suitcases down on departure. Guests should always be asked if they need help with luggage on arrival too, as the rooms they allocated us clearly involved getting luggage upstairs. Breakfast was lacking in decent coffee, even though we paid for breakfast as part of our package. We had to pay extra to BUY barrista made coffee. Very poor form. I am not someone who has ever complained before, but my friend and I spent over $800 for separate rooms over 2 nights and we were never given any offers of help nor apologies for the lift not functioning. A lack of concern and care was very disappointing and always a need to point out when rooms are difficult to access. We did all the asking instead of someone actually caring about our experience and offering assistance.

No welcome drink offered on arrival as this is a part of my membership. Checked mini bar on arrival and there was a half drunk bottle of wine in there, informed reception so hopefully I don’t get charged for this. Split system air conditioner would randomly turn on and off. One morning ordered breakfast off the menu in the restaurant rather than buffet and was good. Also ordered a barista coffee which I had to remind the team to make after I had finished my breakfast. Ask for some eggs cooked to order the next morning and told the menu was not available and it was buffet only, I said they did this yesterday but was still told no. So went somewhere else for breakfast. Overall was an average stay based on the above and would look to stay at another hotel next time.

Shower water pressure was very poor - regardless of time of the morning. Hot water was only lukewarm and again without any pressure after taking minutes to come through.
