We booked this hotel and resort for my Wife's 40th birthday after having stayed in Rixos Bab Al Bahr twice before. Being accustomed to the Rixos way of holidays, we got into the swing of things very quickly. However, there are a few things that have changed and not necessarily for the better. Firstly although we did manage to get restaurant reservations during our stay, having to login to the app to make restaurant bookings every day at 11am (although can book 3 days in advance) was tedious and initially only Managing to get reservations at 9.30pm - with two young children was not suitable, guest relations did change this for us. One of the bookings unfortunately, could ot be changed time but we went to the restaurant anyway to see if they could accommodate us at an earlier time - to find us being the only table in the restaurant and some of the other restaurants definitely had space for additional tables. Whether this was a result of last minute cancellations or another logistical reason was unknown. The food in the restaurants was good - not amazing but of a good standard, the only place we had an issue was the steak restaurant - Toro Loco where both the service and food was inadequate and I raised this with the manager if this restaurant. From speaking to others this was not a common theme and therefore, will give benefit of doubt that we just received poor food and service as a one off. Our favourite restaurant was the Turkish, second to the Italian (pizza was fantastic). The shows were excellent as always and now expected at Rixos, with a good variety of bands and the dance team performing great routines. Bar service was the best we have received at a Rixos - special mention to Monir, went out of his way every night to find us a table at X Lounge and bring us drinks. Pools, beaches and sunbeds - the salt water pool, although salt water is a really nice pool and has a really relaxed vibe with the pool bar being an added benefit. The fountain pool (as we called it) was where daytime entertainment took place with aqua aerobics, waterpolo and a good area for kids to play in the water. Our children preferred this pool, although my wife and I preferred the relaxation of the main salt water pool. Although, you could always get beds at both pools at anytime of day - it was always more difficult at the entertainment pool. There are other pools by the beach villas but we rarely used these. The beach is massive, great space, clean and good calm waters for swimming and playing in. We spent at least part of every day on the beach. Our children said the Rixxy kids club is the best kids club they have been to - this was down to the kids club team keeping them well entertained over facilities. Our room was a 1 bedroom premium room overlooking the beach which was spacious for a family of 4 with great views of the beach and sea. There was nothing that was disappointing although, in advance of our trip I did contact the hotel to see if there was anything they could do to help celebrate my Wife's birthday - they said they would do something in the room and also at a restaurant. This never happened and along with the restaurant bookings system are the only negatives to what was as a whole a fantastic, relaxing family holiday and we would without a doubt book this hotel in the future.

We understand how the 11:00 am booking process and limited early dining availability can be inconvenient, particularly when traveling with young children. While we are glad Guest Relations were able to assist in adjusting most of your bookings, we acknowledge that the process itself felt tedious. Your comments about availability versus visible occupancy have been noted and will be reviewed internally. Regarding your experience at Toro Loco, we sincerely regret that both the service and food did not meet expectations on that occasion. Thank you for raising this with the restaurant manager during your stay. As you mentioned, this is not typically reflective of our standards, but we fully understand your disappointment. Most importantly, please accept our sincere apologies that the birthday arrangements discussed prior to your arrival were not delivered. Missing such a special moment is deeply regrettable, especially given the importance of the occasion. This is certainly not the level of attention we strive to provide for celebrations, and your feedback has been shared with the relevant teams for follow-up. We truly value your loyalty to the Rixos brand and are very pleased to know that, despite these concerns, you would return in the future. Our party of 11 had a fantastic week at the Rixos Al Mairid. For some of us - including my family - it was our second time staying here. We felt it had a definite uplift from our last stay in late 2024. There are still things to be perfected but overall we were very pleased and happy with all aspects of our stay. The staff were all excellent, and a credit to the brand. The reception staff were particularly good, and we were very well looked after. The branded drinks and range of food on offer at the main buffet was excellent. Particularly on seafood night. And in the main restaurant Snow looked after us brilliantly and even had our drinks with us before we’d even sat down! She was excellent. The beach was lovely, and the staff there were attentive and helpful.

We were not able to experience the new lobby (renovations not fulfilled as noted). But the service experience at Rixos was (after staying at 7 different hotels in the country) the best one so far. Really well trained and motivated staffing. Obviously a management who gives the staff reason for doing the little extra - at a all-inclusive resorts, that made us mind-blowing positive. Thanks to persons like Monisha at Oriental and Breakfast and Petrya at the Italian restaurant. Who made is all special, despite a ongoing renovation.
