The hotel and resort are OK, the location is very nice (albeit a lot of construction on-going in the area) and is clean. Rooms are basic but functional. Food from the all-inclusive restaurant is acceptable, but it becomes very repetitive after few days. The major negative point is the practices used against guests, which are not acceptable for a 5* hotel: - all-inclusive is a scam: ice-cream during lunch/dinner is included, but outside of meals is not; no food outside meal hours; alcohol-free beer and many other drinks, not included; very poor quality of drinks included in the bar; minigolf, foam party and other kids activities need additional payment - continuous harassment by employees to provide a good review with their names using QR-codes - external vendors selling their day-trips on the pool - there's too many guests for the space and facilities; it brings a feeling of stress at all moments (finding a table for the meals, finding a lounge on the pool...) ; it seemed a poor sizing design for the expected quality of the hotel and the price paid On a positive side, our kids thoroughly enjoyed the Kid's Club on site.

After reading many positive reviews, I was very disappointed by the actual quality of this hotel. This is definitely not a five-star experience. The room was worn out and clearly past its best days. Luxury is often mentioned, but it is far from reality here. The all-inclusive concept is poorly executed. Drinks are served from large bottles, often flat, and in cardboard cups — something I have never seen in any five-star or all-inclusive resort. The location is with nothing nearby and heavy construction everywhere. Breakfast is decent, but lunch and dinner are below average, with little variety and disappointing flavors. Overall, the all-inclusive package is a waste of money. If a hotel offers this, it should be done properly, not as a downgraded version.

We needed a winter break from the vile UK weather. Having looked at YouTube reviews we decided on the Movenpick Resort on Al Marjan Island near Ras Al Khaimah as the beach looked fabulous. The hotel is very modern and spotlessly clean. It was very busy though as the hotel was at 100% occupation for at least two of the days. We were given a room on the 9th floor overlooking the beach. This is the top floor for standard rooms. The view was incredible and the room was spacious and well equipped. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the bathroom quite large. The food in the main Market restaurant was disappointing. Fairly limited and quite often only lukewarm. Because the hotel was so full it was very difficult to get a table in the restaurant at breakfast or dinner. It highlighted that the restaurant clearly does not have enough capacity. On some days for breakfast I would go to the Market restaurant, grab some pastries and take them back to the room. Biggest disappointment for us at this hotel is that All Inclusive is not all inclusive. It does not entitle you to free dining at any A La Carte restaurants. You can't get a drink at the beachfront Ula Bar nor at the amazing Neo Sky Bar. We previously stayed at the Rixos Al Mairid in Ras Al Khaimah and there you can dine at all the A La Carte Restaurants. The beach is amazing, although quite congested. We never bothered with the pools as we prefer sand between our toes. The hotel grounds are beautifully kept and lovely to wander around. In summary, the beach was amazing, the room excellent, the weather fab but, as at other UAE hotels we’ve visited, the staff made the holiday special. The staff are incredible. Faultless service. They can’t do enough for you to make your stay amazing. My special thanks go to Arjun and Afaq at The Beach House bar and Laureen and Sayed at the Market Restaurant Thanks for making our stay magical.
