Stayed at Beachfront Villa Both King and Double Bed rooms are comfy and have a relaxing vibe. Housekeeping staff are very helpful and accommodating. Restaurant staff went beyond and above to serve us and accommodates our request. We are disappointed with the reception services, but overall, the stay was relaxing amid the on-going tension in the country.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Sofitel. What stood out the most for us was how warmly our two dogs were welcomed. We were able to take them with us to the restaurant as well as to the beach, which we absolutely loved. There were no limitations at all – something that is quite rare in the UAE. We were therefore especially positively surprised by how dog-friendly Sofitel is. We would be very happy to come back!

Jerome M. - Diamond Member Stayed in room 601 (Suite with private pool) - constantly having to follow up on emails and not getting them answered in 24 hours (pre and post stay) - I'm suspecting there could have been mistakes on my final bill and am still waiting for someone to reply to the email I sent more than a day ago (AED 500+ difference which I am challenging) - check the back of the seat (between the pillow for your back and the chair frame) below the TV in the bedroom - there is a massive gecko that has been dead for days there - there were hair on the walls of the shower when we arrived - the pool had not been cleaned for some time - filtration system isn't enough, you need to brush the walls and check Ph levels every 2 days. We called the team to clean and you should have seen the difference - we were not informed that Reunion (French restaurant) would be closed during the duration of our stay - the afternoon tea for Gold and Diamond members which was supposed to be in the Citron Lounge was somehow moved to the East Bar - inappropriate for families. - the Bfast buffet selection on day 1 was very disappointing. It then got expanded but was still slightly lower what you would expect from a Sofitel, especially during Eid Holidays - The kids club looks like an orphanage in Russia in the 90's - allocate USD 200 per year to refresh the toys and books in there (buy them second hand,) - the gelato Bianchi by the pool had turned to ice by 5pm with a few flavours not available anymore. Manage the stock better and control the quality of the product you are serving

Plus points: Friendly & courteous staff Negatives: The room was advertised as one with the view of the sea, but it cannot even be called partial sea view! I should either have been reimbursed the extra that I paid for the view, or I should have been upgraded if a proper sea view room was not available. None was offered. My 2nd major complaint is pets almost everywhere in the resort. A wet dog shake in a restaurant full of people attending for buffet breakfast! Dogs touching people passing by or sitting on the nearby tables!
