Too Noisy

Let me start by saying that the hotel was fantastic and the staff wonderful in all areas. We were initially allocated a room at the rear of the hotel having paid for a premium sea/pool view, which disappointed us, but after expressing our concerns re room to reception this was rectified and we were allocated an excellent room with terrace overlooking the pool and sea. Thank-you for that. Everything started very well after the room change but although we were extremely happy with the hotel, food and restaurants all this was spoiled by the constant entertainment that management think holiday makers need. We chose the hotel because it offered entertainment in the evenings. My wife and I enjoy shows after dinner and the dancers and groups on the Show Stage were really good in providing that. The dancers expecially were brilliant. What we did not need was the noisiest disco in the world blaring out, it seemed, almost constantly. The screeching of an electric violin accompanying it to enhance the noise and although I enjoyed their sound, the accordionist and saxophonist playing to backing tracks all through the afternoon and evening. There was no where to have a quiet drink. One evening we moved to the lounge bar to have a quiet talk to a couple we had met there as one of the above were playing on the stage by the Mohito bar. All went well until 10pm when again the violinist and pianist, lovely as they were, started playing. We could not hear our selves talk. I appreciate that Rixos is a family friendly hotel, as I was advised when I spoke to staff regarding the noise levels, but surely it should also cater for the numerous adults and elderly people there without children. By the way the lovely room we were eventually allocated was in a direct line to the Isla stage speakers and we could not even escape the noise in our room with all the patio doors closed. I spoke to numerous members of staff about the noise level of the disco, who agreed it was far too loud, but I was advised that they had previously raised this to no avail. To sum up probably the best room we have ever had on all our travels. Great staff who looked after us extremely well. Good food and restaurants. A great dance squad who entertained us royally, but too much ancillary entertainment especially the boom boom disco. Bring back the lounge bar selling all alcoholic drinks and keep entertaining there with the pianist and violinist until 9 or 10pm but then let's gave some peace and quiet.

Everything was perfect. Only thing that i did not feel very overwhelmed on my birthday. The dinner restaurant was good. Other than that I did not feel special on my birthday.
