This was our third time at Rixos but will be our last. The facilities were tired and dated, the reception staff were not attentive and we were made to feel unwelcome. But the lasting memory of our stay was the fact that our young grandson received physical and verbal abuse from Russian children at the play park. On our first day he was kicked in the face for attempting to get on the roundabout and received a black eye which lasted the whole holiday. He had sand thrown in his face twice at the carnival on the beach whilst your staff member looked on and did nothing and back in the park on another occasion he was kicked in the back several times for going down the slide. The supervision of these children’s play areas was appalling and on most occasions nonexistent. One positive was that the staff in the restaurants and bars were good and the quality of food was excellent. A special mention for Susan in room service because he was excellent and is a credit to your hotel. All in all our stay was ok but ruined by the behaviour of other guests and lack of suitably trained supervision to prevent incidents that could have had even more serious consequences.

Enjoyed our stay at Rixos bab al bahr. The room was spacious and immaculate and the hotel was very well maintained. Every member of staff was helpful friendly and always greeted us with a smile. The only issues we had was trying to book reservations in the restaurants as the wi fi at the adult pool area was intermittent and if we didn’t manage to get connected within 5 mins there were no tables left. We also had an issue trying to make a reservation for 5 people as we were across 2 rooms and your system makes no allowance for this. The adult pool area was very nice…until the fitness classes started. We tended to have sunloungers to the right of the bar area towards the corner and the music coming from the classes in the gym area was FAR too loud. This mixed with the music from the bar area was just noise and not very relaxing in an adult pool area.

Overall it was nice, but not the exceptional experience we were expecting from a Rixos. We have stayed at the Annatara on the Palm and Rotana resort in Abu Dhabi and both were a much more pleasurable experience. We realise that entertainment may be required but we did not need music blaring out from all pools and would have expected the adult pool to be a quieter venue. There was no need for tacky entertainment staff coming around in the afternoon to play silly games. We were also surprised to be forced to pay for breakfast on arrival, not least that we could not put this in the room but had to pay before entering. It’s also just a little cheap and immaterial request considering the cost of the stay. We were extremely disappointed to request some milk to make a cup of tea in the room to be told that this was chargeable. Again not something we would expect from a 5 star hotel. We simply walked down to the bar who gave us the milk in a take away cup. The restaurant booking system was a farce. We have no issue with the request to book the specialist restaurants on the day, but if you have this system the please ensure you have adequate wifi - sometimes it took up to half an hour to get a signal and book, even though we had to move away from the pool area and go to the hotel lobby.

Regarding your arrival, please note that the all-inclusive package starts from lunch on the day of check-in, and check-in time is from 3 PM. For guests arriving early, we offer breakfast at a discounted rate of 100 AED per person, with children dining free of charge. Additionally, from 9 AM to 11 AM, we provide complimentary pastries and tea/coffee in our Aisha Lounge for early arrivals. I would also like to clarify that Rixos Bab Al Bahr is a family-oriented resort with a wide range of entertainment for all ages. Music and activities end at 11 PM to ensure comfort for all guests, and the adult-only pool area is designed to offer a quieter atmosphere. Regarding the à la carte restaurant booking system, I understand your concerns. Our team is available daily in the lobby to assist with bookings or any technical difficulties. As we did not receive any feedback from your side during your stay, we were unfortunately unable to assist at the time. I truly value your comments, as they help us continue improving our services.
